Two players that nobody are talking about

Jamie Collins was shipped to Siberia.
Chandler Jones is who he is. He's missed when it comes to pressuring the QB, but he was always overrated by many here at Patsfans.com

It's been gone over a bunch of times. What's left to say at this point?
Fixed it

I just wentback and read the reactions from the COLLINS TRADED!!!!!!!! thread and the hysteria was hilarious, Belichick was getting roasted and ripped to pieces.

Damn that joke went flat. I meant the 2 players in the OP....but I do remember that thread and the CJ thread....you'd think BB was Jeff Fisher or somebody.

Jamie Collins >>> Shea McClellin.

This board should probably start coming around on the fact that Shea is becoming a solid contributor.
The board also needs to accept that Collins had some serious liabilities. The effects of his freelancing and attitude are shown by how the D has played since he left.

Cut his losses? I think you have it wrong.

Collins and Jones are legit players in the NFL and would be solid contributors to any team. If there were no cap, I think BB would probably have preferred to keep them both. Luckily (for us as Pats fans) there is a cap, and our GM has singularly mastered how to manage it.

With the Pats, players are well coached, surrounded by quality teammates, and positioned to succeed. If Jamie Collins seems to be struggling to perform in Cleveland, realize it is Cleveland.

What we're seeing with Van Noy filling for Collins isn't proof that Collins was overrated all along...it's more analogous to the coaching staff preparing Brissett on a short week to step in and fill for Garropolo.

Good players leave here and become mediocre elsewhere all the time--Deon Branch, Patrick Chung, Green-Ellis. And mediocre players come here and become studs--Wes Welker, Rob Ninkovich, Mike Vrabel, Chris Hogan.

Not a knock on those players. Just part of the local genius.
I disagree. Don't think it was cap as much as drama in the Foxboro PD parking lot for Jones and fighting with coaches on the sidelines and in the locker room for Collins. There is a line with Belichick's that cannot be crossed and both players crossed it. It's about discipline not money. Collins struggling in Cleveland is as much about Collins as it is about Cleveland. It's a team game, BB selects team players and dumps those who aren't. Neither of those two guys was. That got them dumped, not the cap.

Bill only coaches the players on this team, and I only watch the players on this team.

Collins fought coaches? I heard about the freelancing, but I never heard anything about openly fighting with the coaches. Was this in an article I may have missed?

This is why I like late round draft picks and FAs. It's much easier to make a judgement on a player's personality if you have him on the team.

"Who can take a nothing player...

and suddenly make him seem worthwhile?"

"Bill... you might just make it after all."

There was more, this was first good link I found. IIRC there were both a sideline argument during and a locker room encounter with coaching staff after the Bills game. Not much on the latter, fact that it leaked at all in light of Pats usual transparency is enough for me.
