Triplette time
Jeff Triplette is scheduled to referee the Patriots' game against the Lions on Sunday. This will mark the second Patriots contest that Triplette has called this season, as he was the ref for the team's Oct. 22 game at Buffalo.
Triplette's crew is right on the league average, calling an average of 12.1 assessed penalties per game. But the Patriots and Lions might think twice about challenging a call in the game, as Triplette's crew has had 11 challenges, and only one reversal.
Triplette's crew called 12 assessed penalties in the Patriots-Bills game on Oct. 22 -- nine against the Bills, three against the Patriots. The Patriots won that game, 28-6.
