Training Camp Thread 8/13/2013

Comments from Ceese Carcieri:

- Kenbrell Thompkins playing some pre-practice catch with Tim Tebow.

- Tim Tebow begins practice with the ugliest throw I've ever seen. Honestly...

- Kids behind me: "Your grandma is better than Tim Tebow."

- Brady is messing around with Mallett during sprints. They are racing. Funny stuff.

- Finally I get to watch the defense do drills. The Pats are practicing on the front field and the Bucs on the back.

- Another ball in the dirt for Tim Tebow...

- Brandon Spikes is not working with the linebackers right now. Doesn't look like he is even on the field.

- All I have to say is where is Brandon Spikes. He's killing me... No OTAs or mini camp.

- Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman juke their defenders badly in 1v1's. Just sick.

- Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins catching all the balls thrown to them.

- Slater and Boyce with two fantastic catches in the 1 on 1's. The Pats were picking them apart. Pats v Bucs in 1 v 1's.

- Couldn't see how are defense faired against Tampa Bay's offense in 1 v 1 but the our offense was dominant.

- Looks like Fonzie is limited again. He is walking around the field with his helmet in his hands.

- Patriots offense v Bucs defense on the front field. Pats defense v Bucs offense on the back field.

- Kenbrell Thompkins with a beautiful catch over the back of a defender. Nice throw from TB.

- Dashon Goldson has the freshest face mask in the league.

- Punt return work now.

- They are going full out contact on these punt drills. Hard hits right now.

- Dobson with a beautiful catch. Talib is amped on the sideline. Helping him up.

Comment from Derek Havens:

- Teams are doing combined special teams work, punt return drills. Lineman working separately in respective groups. Solder looks tremendous.

Comment from Jeff Howe:

- Kenbrell Thompkins just made a special one-handed catch around Rashaan Melvin on a Brady pass for a TD.

Comments from Steve Balestrieri, Pats Pub:

- 7-7 had nice work by both teams.

- Ryan Allen really getting some good distance on punts today.

- 11-11 starting now.

- First play Brady a bomb to Dobson down the sideline....nice grab going up for it.

The Johnthan Banks thing is interesting as he's 6'2". Looks like Dobson is doing well at one of the things he was brought in to do - beating the bigger CBs.

Comments from Roy Cummings, Tampa Tribune:

- The Bucs and Patriots are on the practice fields here at Gillette Stadium. Separate workouts for now. Joint battles to come.

- The Bucs must feel like they're at a home game right now. Pats stretch to Ozzie Osbourne's "Crazy Train"

- Bucs and Patriots are finally mixing it up together on the same field.

- Patriots QB Tom Brady just for done testing - and often beating - the Bucs DBs in a one-on-one passing drill.

- It wasn't all bad for the Bucs in those passing drills. Rookie CB J Banks displayed some good tight coverage on a couple of plays.

- Bucs WR Mike Williams also won a battle very handily with former Buc Aqib Talib, leaving him on the ground with a nice juke.

- Special teams work here is definitely more exciting than what we're use to seeing. There's some hitting going on in these kick off drills.

- Tom Brady is just picking the Bucs first team DBs and linebackers apart in a seven-on-seven drill. Hit Danny Amendola for a long TD on one.

- Josh Freeman just threaded the needle to Vincent Jackson in the back of the end zone. That is becoming a signature play for him.

- Bucs CB Johnthan Banks is getting a real welcome to the NFL schooling today by Tom Brady. Beady hits Aaron Dobson again for a completion.

- Pep Livingston bats down a Brady pass. It's not all Pats in these drills.

- Brady is messing around with Mallett during sprints. They are racing. Funny stuff.

Sadly, both of them finished 10 yards behind Vince Wilfork.

#Buccaneers offense vs #Patriots defense now in 11-on-11. Bucs WR V. Jackson has always killed Pats defensive backs.

Fixed it for ya.

Dennard, Dowling, Cannon and Jenkins are all in pads today. We'll see how much they practice

This just made my day, especially the first 3. Hopefully in a couple of weeks Cannon can start to make his presence known as the starting RG, and a very good OL will be elevated to awesome. Getting Dowling and Dennard back can only be good news for the secondary.

As for Jenkins.....meh. At least now he'll be able to fight for his job, but it looks like its going to be an uphill climb

Have you guys realized how many one handed cathes have already been made by Patriots WR's and TE's alike. It's going to be thing of beauty knowing Brady's Passes don't always have to be perfect. Defenses are going to be in for it knowing our Offense uses the entire Field and not just half of it.:scared:

As for Jenkins.....meh. At least now he'll be able to fight for his job, but it looks like its going to be an uphill climb

It now seems like Jenkins is well behind Matthew Slater on the dept chart at WR. That's like beeing up the creek without a paddle.
