People hate Bedard. For his attitude during Deflategate, I guess? He’s a good reporter, gives some pretty good insight and opinions.

I don’t know people dislike him for some reason after we used to have Tuesday threads specifically for Bedard’s analysis on Felger and Mazz. But then he got cancelled around here and all of his thoughts are invalid or something.
Me and someone else use to listen to him and report on here what he said, that was back in '08 '09. Then his popularity here fell off a cliff.

Headass? Never heard that before.
Is that like a backwards asshead?
Whatever the case, they both probably fit Bedard
I translate it as short for head up his azz

was always a herald guy... easier to read at a bar... until the tomase debacle... then just gave up newspapers unless i needed to wrap some fish...
Back in the day there were some writers I couldn't wait to read (McDonough, Gammons, etc) and some I never gave the time of day because their tone was douchy (Mannix, Shaunnessey).

It's that elitist, douchy tone Bedard has and when he is wrong....he is wrong.

He was a reporter then. Now he's a columnist who is really editorializer/sensationalist and thinks he knows everything. Same thing happened to Shanunessey and Borges.

@DaBruinz

looks like we have signed a DT

Thanks, Pape. I will keep my eyes open..
Based on the list of players "absent", it wouldn't surprise me if Tyler Davis was the one released.. Though, with Dial being carted off, he could have been IRed as well.

Totally agree here.
Baker seems to have elite physical capabilities that he could rely on in high school and college.
But he came in and presented like a diva and performed like a bust. I don’t know if Vrabel or Maye or Diggs or Josh can reach him. Becoming great requires some amount of humility to recognize the gifts get you a try out and it’s the work that gets you a career. Not everyone has that in them.
I saw an Instagram post shared somewhere on Reddit a couple weeks ago where a user was speaking poorly about Baker, and Diggs commented on it basically saying don't doubt this kid, he works hard etc. So, at least Diggs is a believer in Baker.

Edit: found the image:

During the off-season, I was one who didn't want a "vet" signed because we had so many young WRs.. I still had faith that Polk/Baker could be redeemed. Then the Pats drafted Kyle Williams and it felt like they were giving up on both Polk and Baker because I just didn't see them carrying more than 5.. The signings of Diggs and Hollins also said that they were not going to get a chance.

As much as I am a Bourne guy, I think he's going to get traded for a Conditional 6th or 7th. Which is too bad because he's such a catalyst when he's on the field.. The Reality is that the others may have moved past him.

It going to be interesting to see if Chism can break into the top 6 with such a battle going on with Polk, Baker, Williams and Boutte.

EDIT: Yes, I edited this, taking out the part with how many WRs the Pats might carry.

smart move by Peppers. Sanders was an ultimate beast ... too bad the injuries cut his career short.

Peppers is a guy who the 49ers might look at since they cut their Starting Strong Safety..

Bob Sanders for a short time was one of the most impactful defensive players in the NFL He was the key to those Colts defenses especially the year they won it all. Great respect for him. He gave it his ALL and it shortened his career by a lot. Fearless was an understatement to describe him. He had an 8 yr career but in only 2 where he played more than 6 games.

But in those 2 years he was great. DPOY in 07

I think a whole lot of people would be absolutely pleased if Peppers morphed into a Bob Sanders type defensive back / line backer ... starting with me... I believe the term "alright alright alright" would fit that scenario to a T

Why would we move Peppers? He's a heart and soul guy, leader and tone setter. Better than Dugger the last 2 years and cheaper.

I'm not sure how much Peppers is going to evolve at this point in his career though...he's 2 months shy of 30 yo....would be cool though to see him be that guy.

we can dream...

I know you guys probably hate our guts but good luck to you guys on your season. I hope you guys stay healthy and have a good one.
Bah, not you guys, maybe Desmond Howard? It was a good superbowl though. Reggie White and D Howard was all the difference.
