I can’t remember hearing anything about Mapu recently.

Thought you were on board with this.

The Cult of Separation is devoted to all things WR, with @PatsFan2 serving as the High Priest.
Ok I thought something like that but figured I'd ask.

I've seen you reference this a few times now but no idea what you're talking about? Who's the cult? And why Baker?
Baker today because he did walk thru with the 1's. Baker on any other day because the High Priest deems it necessary preach to his flock.

This team could really turn some heads. Terrell Williams, even though he is the DC, got a good look of Gibbs in Detroit and Henderson is a carbon copy of him. If Baker somehow unlocks along with Kyle Williams...man...not even including Boutte, Diggs etc. Might be a pretty potent offense.

It’s actually a bit surprising that if seems, for the moment, that Baker has passed Polk in the roster spot battle, particularly since the reports on Polk have been positive since he started practicing.

It's not really about time.
For example, I still hate the Raiders for what happened in the 70's- yes, Ben Dreith gets more hate than the Raiders but they played their part. Plus Stingley.
Whereas the '96 SB was much more recent but I have no hate for Green Bay.
Dont like em either.
Jete, Steelers,Indy,NYG,Philly,Cowboys can all go f themsel
Your right its more than just time, its more about rivalry. We hardly ever play GB and i don't remember any shenanagins in the lose in 96 unlike that refereeing obscenity in the 76 oakland game. I also agree with your most of your hate list for various reasons.

I think our skilled buys are good enough too be a good offense, but we need way better play from the Oline. That is the biggest concern and the $64,000 question, can the line be at least decent?

I had made the statement a couple of days ago on this board Baker's progress bears watching. If he can be better at Polk at WR and standout on STs he has a real shot at making this team as a WR6

Baker has the physical skills be a good to great starter but the mental and behavioral side has obviously been the big issue. I think Diggs was probably a massively positive influence on him. We'll see how it pans out.

Careful... PF2 will send the offering plate around to you if you act like a true believer.

Bob Sanders for a short time was one of the most impactful defensive players in the NFL He was the key to those Colts defenses especially the year they won it all. Great respect for him. He gave it his ALL and it shortened his career by a lot. Fearless was an understatement to describe him. He had an 8 yr career but in only 2 where he played more than 6 games.

But in those 2 years he was great. DPOY in 07

The coaching staff seems to be doing a fine job of evaluating the young wide receivers.

WE will see more when they play against other teams, starting tomorrow.

As of now, it seems that Polk, Baker and Chism are fighting for the 6th WR roster spot, with Bourne sticking around in case of injuries.

No hate for you guys though.
My only hate for Green Bay is that many, many years ago my favorite sports bar - that included a faithful group of NE fans to gather to watch every Pats game - was overtaken by Cheeseheads, becoming a magnet for Wisconsinites and a full-blown Packers sports bar.

Totally agree here.
Baker seems to have elite physical capabilities that he could rely on in high school and college.
But he came in and presented like a diva and performed like a bust. I don’t know if Vrabel or Maye or Diggs or Josh can reach him. Becoming great requires some amount of humility to recognize the gifts get you a try out and it’s the work that gets you a career. Not everyone has that in them.

It's still early.

If Polk looks good, even against second teamers, he will have an opportunity to stay.

Or perhaps they trade him, but he will have value. If he looks good.

He was destined to have a short career with his size, but he made the most of it.

7 WRs are possible.

I get the impression that our coaching last year could have been better.

Just a feeling.
