Trade deadline has passed

I have seen this in about 10 different threads. The Pats can not trade for anyone right now, the deadline has passed. Please stop posting we need to trade for a CB or deep threat now. It can not happen.

It's hard to say something like a trade deadline a "past." You could say that trades have been made in the past at the deadline but since the "trade deadline" itself has no material existence, and thus no memory or possesses it's own history, it's non-sensible to confer the deadline a 'past.' Though you might say the trade deadline is in the past, though that's still a bit awkward.
