Also, cannot blame Branch for smelling the money now.......still though, he is under contract, I say to you Deion, take our deal or wait a looong time, as in week 10 and franchise next year. Too bad. Why should you be different than all the rest.
Actually I think we all can blame Branch for this..smelling the money in NO WAY gives him any right to just say I want the money and sit..If he wanted the money HE COULD do what 99% of players do...play out the contract and go free agency..But Deion is different HE wants his money now..He doesn't want to work this season to have a good season AND the money..sounds more like a lazy bum..who wants NOT to have a great season to show other teams how good he is..but resting on past laurels. So WHY does he think he's so much better than the rest????

what he said

Felger just tries to be controversial and stir things up so people will listen and read him. It does the opposite for me; I don't do either.

I'm not sure TO was under contract when it happened, though. I could be wrong, but I thought there was something different going on.

The TO thing does not really apply here. TO was eligible, by contract, to be a UFA. He missed some deadline to file paperowork was the only reason he did not become a UFA immediately. The NFL was on fairly solid ground getting involved here. With Team Branch, the ground is not solid at all. He is under contract with little doubt he has been given zero authority to change that (save an arbitration ruling of immensely stupid proportions). The NFL getting involved in negotiating for a player who is in breach of contract to give that player what he wants? Talk about opening up a can of worms/ the possible flood gates. The only thing I can see the NFL doing is going through very quiet channels to remind Kraft that legal proceedings make for worried owners. Short of that, a lunatic arbitration ruling, or DB reporting to the team with intention to play? Expect Deion to be playing football for the next several weeks, the Madden 07 kind.

Felger just said that Borges' hatred of Belichick is "refreshing" and that's why he has him on his show. WTF!!!

I don't mind opposing viewpoints, but that's not what you get with Borges. Refreshing??????

Borges hatred of Belichick is disturbingly obsessive if you ask me. Whatever the problem was in 2000, you'd think any sane person would get over it six years later. Did Belichick "astroglide" Borges' wife or something?

Before the O. J. verdict came in, I told the guys at work that he would

be found not guilty. My fellow workers thought I was nutty.

Anything can happen at this hearing. I believe the arbitrator and

the lawyers want to settle the issue before the hearing commences.

One thing you should remember is the Pats gave permission to Deon to

seek a suitor. Now, that he has found someone to meet his price,

they would like the negotiations to revert back to the starting point.

Sorry, but you can't compare a trial by jury and a ruling by an artbitrator. This is a pretty clear cut case of breach of contract. I agree that anything can happen, but there is nothing for Branch to base his complaint on outside of good ole American sour grapes and unneccessary use of the legal system.

thanks for the links, guys.

I agree with you....At the end of the day....that is exactly what I would like to know as well.

Is Deion the only player, under contract, to have outplayed his contract?Of course not - then - Why should he be allowed to cash in now? If he is allowed to get away with shooting his way out of town, what will stop every single other player from doing the same thing?

Man, this show is dreadful. I've emailed the guy twice now for egregrious factual errors (which he SCREAMS).

Do people actually listen to this regularly?

I also told him to stop yelling. They obviously didn't listen to that part.

These idiots just reported that ESPN is backing off the earlier reports that Maroney will not play Sunday.
