To be loved or hated.

In some ways rooting for a team that's loved (usually because they're the underdog) is better, in some ways rooting for a team that's hated--the overdog?--is better. It just plays on different emotions......when the Pats won in 2001, with Kraft saying "we're all patriots!" after 9/11 and all that, that was pretty cool. When you feel the whole world's against you and you preservere in spite of/because of that, that's pretty cool too.

Since we've experienced 2001, and the Sox fans here experienced 2004, I'm perfectly happy to experience the hating thing. So far, so good, I'd say.

My answer is that jealous losers hate winners. As a Sox fan, I was one of those jealous losers for a long time. Now that my teams are winning, I am glad that I am no longer a jealous loser, but, when they stop winning, I will likely start being one again.

That said, even when my teams suck I still don't feel the need to talk **** about their good rivals.
Hey now, watch it!

It's a relatively new feeling for me, but I'm feeling quite comfortable with it.
