Time for a change in draft philosophy?
By: John Morgan

Since Bill Belichick arrived in New England he has been far more likely to trade down and acquire additional draft picks than to trade up for an early pick; is it time to change that philosophy?...

Interesting point about the new CBA and cap. I have to admit I thought for sure it would place a lot of teams under duress this year, which obviously has not been the case at all.

I agree that Belichick is comfortable with change, and is far less prone to traditional thinking than his football brethren. But if there's one thing that he is going to stick by, that's the idea that ten picks are better than seven, and seven picks are better than four.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next April, though I have a feeling that there will be a whole lot of angst among Patriots Nation regardless of what decisions are made at that time.
