Anyone have an opinion on why it is that the BB Pats are unable to get onto this roster a top pass catching TE?

Do they simply not know how to draft one? Or maybe they can't coach one up that they get! Maybe they just don't care if they get one who can catch so long as he can block.

Thoughts?

Belichick doesn't want a pure pass-catching TE. He much prefers guys like Baker and Watson who can block and pick up blitzers, and pure blockers like Matthews.

I would note that Watson and Faulk were our #4 and #5 receivers last year. Watson has averaged plenty of catches over the last four years. So, I'm fine with what we have.

You do recall that Watson caught two TD passes last week?

For just a game at least I'd love to see what a top pass catching TE could do in this offense.
