Thumbs up to the Gillette crowd

I don't usually notice this as I'm watching the beginning of the game. But today I noticed the crowd noise during the very first play and the spirit being shown.

We have been critical of the Gillette crowd in the past. Today they braved the elements and were really 12th man out there.

I don't much care about the reasons. I would just like to say Thank You to every one who was there. GREAT JOB!

Absolutely. Earlier this week I was making fun of my boss because he was going to today's game--mind you, I was making fun of him because it originally sounded like freezing rain and sleet, and it seems he always gets crappy weather when he goes.

After seeing both the game and the crowd, I'm jealous...looks like it was a great time, and obviously a remarkably fun game to watch.

Just got back in the door and my fingers will hardly type. On the floor are about fifteen items of clothing, all steaming and sopping wet! But what a great game! What a team! They were worth shouting for today.

But don't include me in the compliments for the sound on the first drive. I was still trying to get into the stadium. I bottled out of my big plans for tailgating and took the train. Could anyone believe a train company that runs out of tickets? I mean not having enough little pieces of paper! How difficult is that to work out? Anyway, they took an hour and thirty-five minutes to get from South Station to the stadium and we were still waiting in line to be frisked when the sounds were coming from the stadium for the first touchdown.

The first half was exciting and oddly cosy (snow coming down but I was warm in a million layers of fleece and polyester). The folks around us up in the 300s were great (well, except for two d*ckheads in front of me who thought that the best thing to do was to stand up half-way through any exciting play -- fortunately, their need for beer sent them inside soon enough) and I was in a good enough mood (three beers and a plate of chilli fries!) to try to be everyone's friend. The second half was tough when the snow turned to sleet and my gloves (and everything else) soaked through.

But we kept cheering till the end -- except for that stupid touchdown it was just about a perfect day. Of course, you folks watching on TV will have seen more detail than we did by far, but the one thing that I don't think you could appreciate on TV is how astonishing it was for Cassel to complete all of those passes in such brutal conditions.

Yes I was all comfty in my living room in front of my TV. But I just made up for it by one armed snow shoveling while Mrs Lucky operates the snowblower.

see this is why you cant talk about the crowd noise when you are not there. I am not saying it was bad today as I think it was good but the stands were only 2/3 full for the first few drives at best and never filled up but yet the crowd noise was "great" and other days when it is full people call us quite when I am there evey week and I know people are trying and it just isnt the best place for noise.

PS: the crowd is always great when we get to throw snow in the air hehehe thats an anual right since the Mia game a few years back.

Was up in 313 and had a good portion of the area up and shouting. It doesn't really get any better than a playoff push snow bowl game to get your blood flowing. It was an awesome time.

I was there. I drove from my parents house in RI. It usually takes 1 hour and it took 3 today. The crowd was excited and I was impressed by the amount of the fans that showed up. It was a bit of a late arriving crowd (understandably) but the place was pretty full in the lower levels a few minutes in.

The snowthrowing adds a nice effect, but I was disappointed at the "young adults" around me packing iceballs and chucking them at other areas of people in the crowd. Or at the Arizona players for that matter. Pretty sure that is the reason why the NFL made them make an announcement putting an end to it.

After the way you dressed for the Steelers game, I assume your wife wouldn't let you out of the house.

I wass there yesterday and one thing I discovered - either my ugly, expensive jacket is not gore tex as advertised, or gore tex is not waterproof. I got a heck of a lot more wet yesterday than I did at the stillers game. The dang coat weighed 50lbs by the time I peeled it off.

One reason for the late arrivals was some of the gates were closed. I walk in from the north st side and the gate I usually go thur was closed, forcing us to use the fidelity gate, along with a million other people. Thank god the pat downs were almost non-existant or I would have missed the 1st qtr, instead of the 1st score.

To add insult to injury, the ramps to my nosebleeds in 304 were covered with snow & slush, making a 10 minute trip much harder & longer than usual.

I've got Under Armor, multiple layers of polyester/nylon weather garb, what is SUPPOSED to be a waterproof rain suit, waterproof boots, etc. Found out yesterday the waterproof gloves I bought recently at REI aren't. And, my rainproof pants have a leak somewhere that I can't find. It might be time to check out what hunters wear. Yesterday was the supreme test of cold AND wet AND wind at the same time. I could not believe how many people were there in blue jeans and those flimsy $1 rain ponchos. I had multiple layers top and bottom.
