Thread keeping up with the other rookie QBs

I'll be curious to see how this group ranks compared to where they were drafted. We won't know the answer for a few years though.

My best friend was huge on Nix, if he would have fell to the second or 31/32 it would have been great to get Harrison Jr, or Nabors to match with Nix.
But the way the draft fell Maye was the best option.

I haven’t heard anything yet, but I wonder if Chicago or Washington would make a different choice if they got a do over.

Too early for a team to say anything negative publicly about their picks, but so far I am happy with the Pats’ selection of Maye.

Really curious what happens with McCarthy.

Unlike Maye, Daniels, Nix, he’s entering a situation where he’s getting a pretty damn loaded arsenal and a good line blocking for him. He may see some success early there if he beats out Darnold.

Perfect situation for him, I think he will do well.

Had the Pats traded down, does anyone know who the Vikings were interested in taking at No. 3?

Is that assumed or did someone in Minnesota indicate they wanted Maye? Just wondering.
I don’t think we will know that for awhile.
Usually comes out years later if a QB becomes good and the I told you so’s come to life
They would not want to insult McCarthy or put doubt in the fan base

If they were trying to move up to 3 and McCarthy dropped to 10.
That would have been a lot of extra Capitol to give up when you could just stay put and get your guy at 11
Teams sort of know what the top 3-5 teams are doing.
We knew weeks ahead of time that Washington was taking Daniels
They knew we were after Maye. NY and Washington wanted Maye as for the bold trade offers
Just a guess on my part

He may be the dark horse in the QB draft that got passed over.

It was reported by several different media outlets that Vikings and Giants wanted to trade up for Maye. Volin reports Vikings liked Maye more than the Patriots did. Local Vikings reporters like Star Tribune's Ben Goessling also said they wanted Maye.
For obvious reasons I don't think you'll get the coach and GM to say they did not want McCarthy and really wanted Maye , but they did.

As a Giants example, Breer reported Giants wanted Maye and if they could not get Maye they were not interested in taking another QB in the first.

It will be fun to see how all these1st round QB's play out over the next few years.
I still think Maye and Williams get 2nd contracts, and MAYBE McCarthy, but that's it IMO.

Trey Lance busted quick in the first year really.

After 2 seasons pick # 20 Kenny Picket is a bust and pick # 262 Brock Purdy should have gone at least 2nd round.
