I feel like for the last 2-4 seasons, this team has lacked crucial leadership from every direction. I look at this team and can’t point to one guy that defines this team. Nobody the younger generation can look up to and nobody that the team can really build around. It just feels like a collection of players and not an actual team. Back during the Brady years, we had multiple leaders. Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Slater, Wilfork, Bruschi and that’s only scratching the surface. This team needs a leader and it’s been plaguing us for what feels like years now.

Out of the shadow of BB.....

Thunder's at the helm

Over the past five years, the organization basically cut the ties to the team's onfield leadership AND its sideline leadership.

Mayo's a nice guy, and was a very good player, but he has no tie to the successes of either the first or the second dynasty... as a player OR a coach.

This is why, with all his flaws, I'd rather have had Vrabel.

But hey...

Is it also true that Kraft chose him to be the next head coach before Mayo had any coaching experience?

I think the world thought Mayo would be a typical "defensive" & hard-nosed old-school type of HC.
But he's not at all. He looks like Wade Phillips out there on the side line. (sleepy and unmotivating)
Wade is a great DC, but a pretty bad HC.
We absolutely would have been much better off with Vrabel as HC, and Mayo DC (if RKK was adamant he had to keep moving up)

Cam was a leader and everyone seemed to play hard for him, he just sucked.

Then it became Mac who's leadership qualities was as solid as Ralph Wiggum

reminds me of Pete Carrol.

seems the Patriot way went the other way

Bob's been working out? In the top photo, No. 62 on the left looks unusually small for a lineman. But if he can help this OL I'm all for him. Apparently he didn't get the memo about silver pants, though.
