This Super Bowl play still bothers me

This thread is pure sadism.

Bill went for it on a 4th and 10 or so being at the NY 30 yard line, and Gost sent a kickoff out of bounds. I'd say they didn't trust that much in him that game.

Yes 4th and 13. He passed up a 48 yard field goal attempt. Another one I don't get.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit that this is the first time I've ever watched this play.

Once it hit 3rd and 20 I had to leave the room. This game hit me hard. I don't "give up" often, but this was a rare time when everything started to sink in a very negative way.

I knew that it was a deep pass to Moss, but I had never actually seen it before now.
I think a part of me died that day. Perhaps it will return February 1st, 2015.

If I could have 5 minutes with Belichick this is the one thing I would ask him.

...an unfiltered, unguarded, unbridled BB for 5 minutes would be freaking awesome. I would take weeks to prepare the questions.

I pray he writes a book someday after he retires (hopefully many years from now).

I don't know if BB is a memoir guy but I do think that hes a man that is very aware of his stature and place in NFL history.

Writing a memoir on topics like learning football from his dad, working for Parcells, HC of CLE, HC of NYJ resignation, Dynasty years, setting Spygate straight and that SB 42 loss, The BS with Moss and Thomas, relationship with Kraft, Brady, Mangini...and in the afterword what he really thinks of Goodell.

I don't think i'd put it down.

Fixed it for you

Moss easily catches that if he jumps for it. All he did was extend his arms. F that game.

You don't need a Moss jump there. Or a professional wide receiver jump. Or even a professional athlete jump. Or an athlete jump. Just an average sedentary human jump of less than a foot. He needs to touch the ball before the defense if he wants to have a chance to catch it. With an athletic jump of any kind, there's time for the Giants to interfere with the catch, as well.

There's a reason Brady calls LaFell the toughest wide receiver he ever played with.

The Patriots do host "Speaker Series" with Patriots players and coaches in which attendees are treated to an autograph and hour long Q&A session. Bill hasn't done one yet, and I doubt he will, but we can dream.

I just got done watching the end of our last SB loss.....IDK why I torture myself like this....

Brady threw that from the Pats 12 yard line and it landed in the Giants 23 yard line. It went 65 yards in the air on target. That's a hell of a throw.

What's unbelievable is that Moss clearly beat his double coverage and had Brady thrown that ball 5 yards farther it would have been a TD.

It actually went further than that. It started from the outside hashmark and landed near the opposite sidelines, going diagonal across the field. Unbelievable throw.

If Moss had caught that in stride that might have been the greatest TD in the history of football. Still think he could have at least made an attempt at it

The dude runs a 70 yard sprint (after almost 4 quarters of play and keep in mind it was extremely hot in the building) while double teamed and doesn't quite get to it and we're critiquing him? I thought it was amazing he made it all the way down there that quickly.

One of the longest thrown passes I have ever seen. Almost 70 yards in field distance from outside hashmark to near the opposite sideline! Has to be at least 75 yards in actual distance...

i remember someone much smarter than i'm precisely calculated the distance and it was somewhere between 76-77 yards

and brady did that after getting abused by giants D after 59 min of football. impressive stuff.

Cool, real cool. I was just trying to fill out a list of things I could watch that would make me want to kill myself - so, well done.

he angled it. pythagorian theorem. so it's way more than 65 yards

You couldn't pay me enough to watch that video it's just to painfull it bring back so many bad memories.

I don't recall the first two plays well (try to erase from my memory) but chances are good that Moss ran deep routes on those plays too.
