The Verdict Is In

Trading Lester is a bad idea unless they're not going to re-sign him -- which I also think is a bad idea (depending, obviously, on the particulars). He'll be expensive, but he's a proven 1/2 starter who's been with the club his whole career.

Trading Lackey is a bad idea unless they get quite a haul, given how cheap he is next year.

I like our pitching prospects, but they often take time, and it would be a lot easier for them to play roles behind Lester, Lackey and Buchholz than to have be relied on for success in the absence of Lester and Lackey.

(Doubront? eh... I never thought he would do much.)

I just listened to a report on 98.5 the sports hub that the sox have traded lackey to the cardinals. no details yet. the redsox really wear me out.:( I guess we are a small market team now?

we just traded the whole team...yikes

2 wins for the A's since the trade with a 3 hit shutout last night. Doubt this guy is coming back very seriously.

1. Ace
2. Best left hander in Fenway history where lefties haven't faired so well.
3. Change his setting and environment and he still performs up to ace potential.
4. That is the kind of pitcher teams will pay a 100 million dollars for.
