I'm a giant nerd.
I make Dr. Bunsen Hondeydew look like 1980s Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So today I decided I'm going to look at the history of the team, because I got into an internet argument about Brady v. Rodgers and they said we sucked before he came along, and I didn't think that was true.

What I discovered changed my fandom. You all thought Tom Brady was the chosen one, but no. It was another who brought the Patriots to greatness!

So this chart shows the total running win % of the team from their start in 1960 until today. You can see the team started miserable, got pretty good, cratered, had a double top and then settled down into a valley before their steady rise to becoming the greatest franchise in league history.

But when does that slow rise start?

1994.

What year did I become a Patriots fan?

1994.

It was all ME!

You're welcome! Muahahahaha! And Jesus wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer!

Obviously I'm kidding, but it is nice to know my coming heralded a new age in Patriots history.

I'm thinking about making this chart into a sort of visual history of the team if my ADHD riddled brain can manage it. BIG if there.

I started reading this and thought there was going to be some great enlightenment, only to be disappointed.

Nice. Thanks for working that up. Note that the early Pats under Holovak were good teams. I get the impression sometimes that the younger cohort thinks the Clive Rush/**** MacPherson era extends back to the beginning of time. No. The Pats were very good before that low point.

YOU'RE ALL JUST JEALOUS!
