We Need to Talk About the Spotter for the Rams' Head Coach
It's not to say that you need to stay on your toes when you are standing on the sidelines of a football game. You have to watch out for the chain gang as they move the first down chains. You need to watch out for the referees running up and down the sidelines, especially during kickoffs. You need to make sure the coaches and players stay inside the players' box.

Does anyone have film footage of Coach Bill on the sideline?
I bet he is Cat like quick all on his own...

Only cat like quick in the brain ... which is great.

Honestly, it's not a bad idea. It might seem stupid but if you waste a second of the game remembering where you are and it derails a train of thought on a stage as big as the NFL why not hire some intern to just grab you by the hips or something.

Though, in my dream scenario they'd get an adult-sized version of those toddler leashes...

On the Pats sideline it's everyone else that needs to be quick.
Even money if an intern even considered getting near Bill on the sideline the poor kid would spontaneously combust

I think there’s a prop bet about how many times they show him holding McVay back. No joke!

I think that would be an excellent idea. Have it more like a parachute harness with a bungee cable attached to the rear center section, and run back to a cleat built into the grounds. You'd have free rein all through your area, but if you go too far outside that, it springs you back.

That'd not only work, but every time it happened to be used it'd make the game day highlight reel.

Not sure if that’s smart or just weird...

Interesting observation from being at the game is the extent to which Bill stands by himself. Every once in a while he'll talk to a coach or to players, but for the most part he stands by himself. Of course, he's got the headset and it would be fascinating to have a recording of that.

The millennial wave of head coaches is coming. This is the tip of the iceberg. Don’t want him to “burnout” so soon into this.
