The Official Vrabel vs Ben Johnson Discussion Thread

In all seriousness, it's not surprising Vrabel and Johnson were the first two coaches hired. Now everyone else sort of has to figure out who they can stomach going forward. Raiders are an interesting case now.

No surprise, and if it was my choice I would stick with Vrabel.

I also prefer Maye over either Daniels or Williams.

Now that the two prize pieces are off the board, it will be interesting who the other HC hires are.

Is Glenn to the Rats next?
100% rather Maye than Williams.
Daniels has suprised me a LOT though - Thought he'd be fragile, but has been unreal - I love watching him play.
But, I loved Maye from months before the draft, and still think he has awesome upside - But time will tell.

He's also bringing in Dennis Allen as OC. So the whole "worrying about his rolodex" thing seems overblown. Looks like he'll have a well renowned staff at the very least

Showing off for that next HC job.
I think Glenn and Johnson being distracted with jobs hurt them.
I think the success Detroit’s had recently has been mostly GM, OC, DC. Campbell gets more credit than he deserves imo.

Dennis Allen as DC maybe ? He is excellent and I agree that it was a shrewd hire.

Jealous of the Bears ffs, don’t know why we didn’t hire him.
Don’t be, Ben Johnson in his next opportunity will be the best. He is going to get overwhelmed this first go around with a young team. Only way he survives is if he gets a **** LeBeau, Wade Philips types as coordinator to help with establishing the culture!

True. I was skeptical about Daniels, but he's been amazing.
However, I could absolutely see him getting hurt in his sophomore season. A lot of guys do hit the slump (Stroud) and/or they think they can turn into HoFer the 2nd year and get injured.

The type of injury I fear for Daniels is the one that changes his career trajectory.

And to show his loyalty to his new found team, he helped them ruin a division rivals season lol
There is some truth to that.

Maybe with the NFL year round schedule as it is there is no good alternative.

It bothered me that the Pats had to endure the Rats tampering with Parcells, when his attention should have been 100% on the Packers.

Yeah too many people are saying "See See! He's taking massive shots and keeps getting up and playing." Sure, thats great and all but they add up. His body cannot hold up and it won't hold up.

Dude might be out of the league in 5 years due to injuries.

Come on Vrabel get to it. Its been 2 weeks LFG on your staff. What r u waiting for?

I was pro Johnson over Vrabel until what I saw on Saturday. I think he's done a fantastic job as an OC, but I think his offense like many others are too gimmicky.

Vrabel's first press conference was a good start and he will give a rude awakening for many of these entitled players the Pats have.

Yeah.... Honestly one of the big advantages people were saying about Vrabel was that he

1. Had a rolodex of coaches
2. We wouldn't have to wait for him to get started

But Ben's already got his staff coming together and is getting big names while we are just sort of guessing who may or may not be coming onboard. Not stoked about that.
