Can't pin tonight on Johnson.

That was squarely on Goff and Glenn.

At least Goff already got his fat contract. Glenn may have cost himself a HC job.

Why did McDaniels get an HC gig after the BUF loss, then?

Also, consider this:

55 Derrick Barnes ILB (IR)
79 John Cominsky DE (IR)
92 Marcus Davenport DE (IR)
23 Carlton Davis CB (IR)
30 Khalil Dorsey CB (IR)
97 Aidan Hutchinson DE (IR)
57 Nate Lynn OLB (IR)
54 Alim McNeill DT (IR)
4 Emmanuel Moseley CB (NF-Ill.)
96 Kyle Peko DT (IR)
15 Ennis Rakestraw Jr. CB (IR)
44 Malcolm Rodriguez OLB (IR)
94 Mekhi Wingo DT (IR)

I thought he got way too cute.

But mostly, Goff was not good and the Defense had nothing left in the cupboard.

And now the lions get absolutely raided for coaching talent…tough one.

I think they take a step back next year.

He gets partial blame.

Down 10, with 12 minutes to go 1st & 10 from midfield he called a WR to throw the ball deep. That killed the Lions of having any chance. Gibbs was rushing for 7.5 ypc, why aren't you trying to slow it down a little and rush it down their throat with your stout OL, score there you are only down 3. Instead WR throws an INT, Washington has a 4 minute scoring drive and it's 45-28 with 7 minutes to go.

It was still a game up until that play-call but he essentially killed the game for the Lions calling that.

He got into a play-caller ego battle with Kingsbury and lost.

Kingsbury has a far superior quarterback. Goff is Darnold. Turned into a pumpkin.

Showing off for that next HC job.
I think Glenn and Johnson being distracted with jobs hurt them.

The Jameson Williams throw was a case of going to the gadget play well too many times. That was a death blow.

Last night’s loss was a terrible look for Johnson. I’d like to know what went wrong with the Pats interview.

The one red flag I’ve noticed is the excessive trick plays. Teams do this when they can’t move the ball straight up on a defense. You can’t beat teams relying on trick plays.

I don't think anything went "wrong".

They wanted Vrabel

Maybe Vrabel was what went wrong with the Johnson interview.

Anyone think we were Johnson’s first choice?

He didn’t interview with many teams, turned down an interview with the Rats.

And we have Maye.

It's clear as crystal: BJ wanted the children upstairs Out the ****ing Door before he arrived; and Ron Wolf's boy in particular convinced the Early Bird otherwise.

Vrabel apparently got final say. He can over rule Elliot Wolf

No surprise, and if it was my choice I would stick with Vrabel.

I also prefer Maye over either Daniels or Williams.

Now that the two prize pieces are off the board, it will be interesting who the other HC hires are.

Is Glenn to the Rats next?
