The Official Vrabel vs Ben Johnson Discussion Thread

I heard Welker was rumored to join Bill in NC, but I’d take him hear as a offensive assistant.

Within 24 hours Vrabel is hired or Ben Johnson is a serious candidate.
I would say this is logical.

X factor might be that the could be waiting on another candidate or 2 whose teams are playing this weekend.

The Raiders' job isn't good because they don't have a QB and are too low in the draft to get one unless they give up a lot to move up.
Unless Tom sells Mind on Mcconell or Rodgers is incoming.

There isn't much reason to have him at Gillette. Vrabel has seen every inch of the facility. They don't have to sell him on anything that Foxboro has to offer other than the new training facility which they can show him plans and schematics anywhere.

I don't think Rodgers is much of a selling point at this point. A 40-something QB who clearly has lost a step who needs to be pampered? And Rodgers had a stacked team in NY and did nothing. The Raiders have very little in terms of talent. I don't think Vrabel wants any piece of Rodgers.

He wants his QB future either in house like Maye or he is going to a team in position to draft a QB prospect he thinks he can build around.

He was also just there in 2023 for the Pats HOF ceremony.

This won't make sense to most of you, but I've been thinking if buying a PRS Silver Sky, and I can't decide whether I want a maple or rosewood fretboard. I feel exactly the same thinking about that as I do thinking about Vrabel vs. Johnson. There are just good reasons for both choices. Which is which? Vrabel is rosewood, deeper, more comfortable; Johnson is maple, raw but more sparkle.

Each guitar offers you a different voice, almost a different self through which to play. It gets pretty addictive. I have even more guitars than your kid, but then I've been at it for - yikes - 60 years. There are exceptions, of course, who stick with the same instrument - usually a Telecaster or a Stratocaster or a Les Paul or an-ES 335 or a big fat hollowbody, but they always worked their way through a number of others before they found their voice.

Raiders are in a division with very good to elite QB's/HC's. They are not picking at the top of the draft in an already weak QB class. Essentially 17 road games per year. I'm unsure what they have to offer.
