This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Do you think he only carries 5% influence?

Honestly, I have no idea, I don't pay attention to that Nomad team....My opinion is that Brady and his Partner were brought in to make Davis liquid....maybe I'm wrong, no idea.

Lots of talk here about Vrebel and an elite OC. So who's that elite OC? Not going to be able to poach any current successful OC's as their teams won't release them from their contracts. So who among assistants or available retreads are we talking about? And isn't that as much of a gamble as Ben Johnson as HC?
Yeah I was kinda thinking the same way. As I heard on person put it, if you have the high end offensive mind as the HC, then losing your coordinators for HC jobs etc isn't as big of a hit. The offense is the same and you can have groomed replacements already in place etc.

There is some validity to that imo.

I don’t know the status with Ben Johnson but the Pats can’t drag their feet with Vrabel. Sign the Beast.

They could get a verbal agreement in place with Johnson and announce it after the Lions season ends.

If that happens it will leak way before the end of the season. We’ll know

We will know if Vrabel takes a job and other spots fill like the Raiders and the Bears.
Then we know.

Unless he pulls a McDaniels in the 13th hour.

Whether it's MV or not, I absolutely detest this "it's a done deal" pish. We've been there before with "shoe-in" appointments. Didn't end well. Let's do proper interviews with an open mind and may the best man win.

Rooney rule

Does that mean we already interviewed a minority candidate? Edit: nmind just saw the other thread. Glad we’re moving quickly
It could also mean they have a wink wink deal with BJ.

No matter whatever Chicago offers, it's still within the toughest division in NFC and same division as lions . I feel Ben might want to go away from that and as a self professed belichick fan ( BC alum, NC roots that align with Maye ) might find it tantalizing to bring back the glory days of patriots and with Maye and Milton and 133 million, maybe he feels he can do lots more and we already have the best CB in the league. So if we get one stud edge rusher and decent CB, defense will be set and with tee Higgins and the existing WR class he can do something different.

I have a feeling we might trade onwenu if BJ comes here as it might not suit his game plans for jets sweeps and misdirections. He needs a penei Sewell kinda athletic lineman who can bulldoze and also run in opposite direction.

I'd be super excited with Ben Johnson, but it's going to be Vrabel.

Which is fine with me.

Vrabel is good enough to win with.

Yup. There's no sense in forcing a GM and HC into a marriage. Needs to be a unified vision.
The Bears still have Ryan Poles as their GM so both interviews that BJ has are with places that have similar situations.

In a perfect world that's great, in REALITY people are waiting for an answer from multiple suitors, and THEY can't wait forever, or else they lose out.
Personally I'm a Vrabel guy, but I understand the allure of Johnson.

Looks like we are number 1 choice for Ben Johnson. Go for the jugular Kraft, take the risk . Mayo was a stupid decision, but BJ could turn out to be like Bill. It's super bowl or bust. With Vrabel not too sure . At least OC continuity will be there for BJ. Need HC who can call call plays or has stud playmakers lined up.

Im completely biased but id choose ne all day over chi. Weve only been a trainwreck since 2022. They’ve been pretty hapless for a while minus a good year here and there. Plus most smart folks like Ben have probably seen the tape and most all 22 analysts ive seen throughout the season have drake easily ahead of caleb already, despite him being the most raw.

And $130 m in cap plus pick 4 vs 10 is a good selling point.
