DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION The Official Rounds 4-7 2013 NFL Draft Thread

Why is Jesse Williams dropping SO much? He was a 1-2 rd DT before the draft and is still available.

"...There is some twitter buzz that teams are really concerned about his knees."

He has knee scope after the Alabama win... Not sure if the scope was a success or not...

Brady is tough to play with, the football IQ is very important for a WR in this system. Sound like it was a factor with both guys.

Lot of work this year for Brady, with a BUNCH of new WR'd to develop (hopefully) Chemistry with.

Like the pick, would have preferred Da'Rick Rogers, but I believe Boyce had spoken to the Pats before. Not tall at 5'11", but thick, believe he weighs more than Dobson. And Boyes has blazing speed. If Boyes is a smart receiver (can learn the playbook fast), the Pats have drafted two fast strong physical receivers with excellent speed. BB was talking about how smart Dobson is, hopefully Boyce is just as smart. Passing game has totally gotten bigger, faster and younger, but a lot of new guys. Hopefully none of them have Ocho disease (can't learn the playbook).

So do we triple dip at WR with a really high upside guy (Wilson, Gardner)?

Still need OG (Herman, Ohio?), RB (Lattimore, Maysonet?) and maybe DT (William Campbell)

lol probably the QB turned wr Denard Robinson

Saw reports that teams have him off the board because of medical.

Interesting to know why Patton is falling. One of the most productive in CFB and did really well at Senior Bowl. Is he suffering in the same way Marvin Jones did last year - neither ideal size or athleticism. Is there a character issue?

Interesting that Patton and Rogers still available. David Bakhtiari is falling. Philip Thomas is falling.

Don't you know the Packers and Texans follow this board? :bricks: :enranged:

Rogers doesn't surprise me, he has locker-room problem written all over him. But Patton and Swope are interesting.

Hope Patriots package the 2-7s for a early 6...

Wasn't this your guy in the draft forum? Congrats.

Well, thanks, though they are misplaced.

Here are the ones who I mentioned in the thread "Who has stolen your heart" that was put up after the Combine/Senior Bowl.

In terms of defensive guys:
Kawann Short, Jordan Poyer (who played Safety at the Senior Bowl), Zaviar Gooden, Desmond Trufantp

Did Dilfer just say that 58% of Brady's completions last year were to players not on roster?? Maybe 58% to WR, not TEs and RBs are still there...

In total, losing Lloyd, woodhead and Welker doesn't make that stat surprising.

I'm actually very surprised that the percentage is that low.
I figured it would be much higher.

2012 Receptions -- Departed Player
118 - Wes Welker
74 -- Brandon Lloyd
40 -- Danny Woodhead
16 -- Deion Branch

2012 Receptions -- Retained Player
55 -- Rob Gronkowski
51 -- Aaron Hernandez
21 -- Julian Edelman

If people thought Dobson's catch rate was insane they need to look at Pattons. Thought he had the best hands in this draft if I'm not mistaken.

Boldin like with less heft and more speed?

Patton is definitely the most intriguing guy that is falling because we don't know of any injury/character issues. This one really has me stumped.

Nassib is a good pick in the 4th, but I don't know why the Giants would trade up get him. Trying to flip him in a few years?

I did read somewhere that he might have trouble beating NFL press. Other than that I can't see why he is falling.

Patton interviewed for the Patriots. Not sure if Pats saw something bad?

Not sure of Boyce interviewed... Maybe it was a private workout?

That's a great pick right there for them. Bingo for the flip and they probably be able to do it because there coach will let him showcase if their destroying a team.

That is actually what I love most about him, his amazing feet at the line make him a nightmare to press and a threat in the redzone.
