Did everyone here forget how good the Lions looked at this time in 2008?

Just like almost everyone in here was putting the Pats in the Super Bowl the past 2 worthless preseason games are now putting this same team removed from the Bucs win just a week ago now under the bus because of a bad worthless preseason game and now the OL sucks and the DL blows

I really don't know what to make of some fans who change their opinion of the team in preseason like they change their socks.....get a grip

If the team is down 27-10 against Miami by the start of the 3rd quarter, then start to worry, until then relax a little on what is always a roller coaster preseason which is nothing more than for the vets to get some rust off and start to gel together and for the coaches decision on the bubble boys to be chosen or dumped.

The preseason is just that...evaluation of bubble guys and some practice for the locks and near locks
....nothing more,nothing less.

One thing I'd note is that it is a cut block that involved two players. I don't know the exact qualifiers, but Welker can't go below the knees in that situation.

When I replayed the play, the Detriot player (safety?) came outta no where and Welker lunged at this legs. I highly doubt he was blocked by anyone else.

Suh's punch really pissed me off. And then what took that to another level is when the Lions fans that I told about it said that I'm just jealous. When was the last time anyone was jealous of the Lions in game that counted?

Suh really needs to be fined for this. I consider it worse then the Dalton throw down because it was after the play was dead. It was just him being a baby who could not control his temper. Before today I liked what he brought to the NFL, but he needs to control himself. It takes more to be an elite player then just being the best at your position.

The 3rd preseason games are usually treated like actual football games. To me it seems that both the Pats and the Lions tried tonight and the Lions were the better team fair and square.

It worked. Im scared **** of him. That dude is a ******* ANIMAL.

He's also a ******* punk who knows that he's one of the faces of the league & can now get away with cheap-ass crap like he did tonight.

The Omissioner & the marketing suits have created a monster; now someone needs to teach him a lesson.

You mean he sounded more or less like he does every time the Patriots lose?

You don't say.

If you agree with what he said then you also agree with what I said.

You will find that any bad team will always find a way to rev themselves up when the Pats come to their town.

That's the negative thing about being a team of the decade, every bad team you face will act as if it's the Super Bowl.

The Pats played without emotion and looked more interested like getting some final preps on the field regardless of outcome for the real games ahead and I doubt you will see this team look like this except against the big boys like San Diego,Pittburgh Ect:....Cleveland game last year looked like this and we all saw what transpired after that....a lot of wins, until the postseason that is

I still think Detroit is about 2 or 3 years away from being good when it counts and will win about 6 games this year while the Pats will get double digit wins...relax,the best is yet to come

Lions- another "improving" team that's about to get a heavy dose of reality.

i think that falls in the "famous last words" category...

I've been preoccupied here in NYC with the hurricane bearing down on us, but, aside from the Welker injury (a big "aside" obviously), I'm not all that upset about tonight.

it's only preseason and the entire area's been preoccupied this week, so it's not all that hard to imagine the Pats having an off night tonight.

and, even for a very strong team, it doesn't hurt to have a "low cost" reminder of the old "Any Given Sunday" adage.

Stay safe in the Boston area. This is one hell of a storm.

You should listen to what Tom Brady had to say about the game in the press conference.

First time you've heard a Brady press conference after an exhibition season loss, too?

Like I just said to someone else:

Again, you seem to be missing the point. In their press conferences, Brady and Belichick act as if every loss is a blown Super Bowl. However, anyone who's followed the team for any decent period of time can watch BB's actions (game planning, personnel packages and the like) and figure out that his words often don't match his actual positions. Brady is the same way.
