Brady was slow to start, but once McDaniels got the team going with the running game, Brady and the Rookies seem to get in sync better.

Dobson and Thompkins both were excellent today.

Blount was surprising.

Boldin did more than I expected him to do.

Hope that Vollmer is OK.

Wendell was getting manhandled today. Connolly blew and assignment and it led directly to Brady being sacked.

Happy for the win, but as I, and ALP, mentioned in the game thread I think maybe we are starting to see a bit of decline in Brady. The offensive struggles have not all been on the receivers.

He missed two wide open receivers in the first half and threw to a covered Sudfeld instead. He also threw multiple passes short, wide or in the dirt. Most notably he missed Dobson wide open in the end zone. Tebow could have hit that one. And then he was caught staring down Sudfeld two plays later and was picked in the end zone. You cannot give away points like that.

Blount against a tired D reminds me of Corey Dillon against any D. Not real fast, but is hard to bring down.
I think our rookie receivers will be just fine. I kinda saw it coming after the first drive, and am quite satisfied overall.

I don't think its toms age. It's them still gelling and not 100% trusting them. Plus the oline needs to step up.

A lot of things to like about this game. Again the defense showed up and did what they were suppose to do (Jackson and Williams both got hurt though so you need to take it with a grain of salt).

The Bucs obviously left a few points on the field that should've been on the board but still a good defensive effort. I wanna see them against the Falcon's O. Thompkins appears to be behind Dobson. He had more drops and less targets but both improved.

Sudfeld again was a disappointing no show but I still have hope he will turn into something at some point. Boyce didn't get a chance to get on the feild much. Victim of the numbers game.

The Oline was uneven at times. Hope Vollmer is okay.

The running game did well. I thought the run D may get thrown under the bus by some just looking at the stat sheet but they held Martin well for about 3 quarters and then they softened up and invited him to run in the 4th to shorten the game.

Also deserves a mention. Gostkowski has had many Patriots fans worried due to the preseason and bad start but he looked great today.

A less ugly win than the other two...

But definite improvement... satisfied on many levels.

People talk about how Brady "demands perfection", it seems apparent that he needs things to function correctly, in general, for him to function well. The rookie WRs might screw up a few plays but it seems Brady will often screw up even if they do things correctly on a particular play.

He doesn't seem to be able to improvise well, he needs to stay on script.

C'mon! The Bucs must be lucky to be facing elite QBs who are showing their age and declining two weeks in a row. Drew Brees is clearly on on his last leg completing only 56.5% of his passes last week vs. the Bucs (Brady completed 69.4% today) and had one TD vs. two INTs (Brady had two TDs vs. one INT).

Brady and his receivers are still getting their timing together. That means that Brady doesn't know exactly where they will be on every play. When you run a timing offense like the Pats, Brady will make some mistakes when he is not yet comfortable with his receivers.

If Brady is like this in November and December, then you might have a point. Otherwise, it is just growing pains of the offense.

Brady made his share of mistakes, but many of them is just because he doesn't know his receivers' speed yet.

I don't think it has anything to do with Brady's age...I think him and Giselle need to introduce a little role playing or something different to mix things up in the bedroom...

no

yeah, they pretty much have

Although I am not worried about Brady's mistakes. He had his fair share today of the mistakes. It is just a part of the offense growing together, but there were several bad plays that was clearly Brady's fault.

The Brady is declining comments are absolutely hilarious. Keep 'em coming, guys.lol

Solid defense, some concerns on Wilfork though. Much better syncing up the offense, some bad throws by Brady and some drops by the rookies. Wendell getting ragdoll and Connolly blew 2 blocking assignments that I seen, hope they get better.

Did he not make a bunch of really BAD mistakes? I don't think it's an age thing, I think he just gets very uncomfortable and makes a bunch of his own mistakes when other people make mistakes of their own.

The jokes/snide remarks write themselves. :eyebrows:

QBs do have less than good games now and then. It happens. Today was a good game by Brady, not a very good or excellent game. BFD. OL protection issues in Q1 and again later when Vollmer went out did not help.

How'd Aaron Rogers & Eli do today?

The issues with the O-line were with Wendell and Connolly and not Cannon from what I could see. In fact, on one play, Connolly turned away from the guy right in front of him, leaving Cannon to try and take on both the DT and DE while the TE had the LB on that side. This allowed the DT to erase Brady, essentially..

I don't know about you guys, but I didn't agree with any of the PI calls that happened today both against us and for us. Jesus, I think if someone sneezes on a receiver these days, it's going to get called.

and Mankins was beaten badly on one play

I don't think that invalidates what I'm saying, it's been apparent these last few games so I wouldnt dismiss it as a one off. QBs like Roethlisburger and Manziel thrive off of chaos but it ruins Brady, I think one can alleviate it but it would have to be done through practice, purposefully creating chaotic situations that force him to have to adjust on the fly.
