Am I the only one who doesn't feel too bad with the way this game has gone so far?
- Given that our offense consists of last year's WR3, TE3, a new slot starter and a slew of rookies, I'm just happy that we are generating offense. The Bills were all over us early, but I definitely saw improvement as the second quarter dragged on. I think it's important to note that several stalldriving plays and turnovers were caused by rookie mistakes. We can realistically expect these to decline as they get more game time experience.
- The obvious exception to this thus far today has been Ridley, who has looked explosive, fast, and completely reckless with the football. I really like Ridley, but I question how long Bill will tolerate this, especially when Vereen is a great alternative at the moment. Let's hope he locks it down, because I think his upside purely as a running back is higher than Vereen's.
- Our defense has largely looked fantastic today, and NOT because they're playing a poor O. I've been especially impressed with how we've shut down the running game so far, especially in short yardage situations. Let's hope it continues into the the second half.
More than anything I'm just happy to watching football again. Onto the third quarter! :rocker:
