My guess is a drastic restructure/cutback/smaller staff & format.
There seems to be a whole lot of staff and payroll covering local politics, which is where the first cutbacks would be. And anyone covering national and international news would be replaced by AP/Reuters reports, and opinions from other newspapers and websites.
I could easily see the Globe - as well as many other newspapers - transitioning in to an abbreviated version of its current format, perhaps as a free tabloid size paper and no home delivery. Columns could include links to further info on boston.com for more in depth coverage.
Worst case scenario: Reiss gets let go, he gets picked up by NESN or WEEI. Best case scenario, Reiss gets let go, he gets picked up by NFL Network as well as National Football Post or Sporting News.
