And what kid would want to go there right now and showcase his talents for the NFL? Feels like BB and Lombardi are getting a college team confused with a team like the Patriots who can and are rebuilding.

One thing a kid in the WRAL report said echoes that already. He doesn't give a bleep about a rebuild. He doesn't give a bleep about the 33rd NFL team. He's there right now to showcase his talents. It's pretty clear if UNC isn't providing a platform to do that, he'll be on the portal for next season. And it's pretty clear every decent prospect has read the WRAL report and is going to be leery about joining UNC, if they even consider it after this massive **** storm.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, in CFB everyone's a free agent every year if they want to be, even ones who have already "committed" to you. I can easily see a second season worst than the first, if Bill and Fat Mike even last that long.

I know NYT isn't what it used to be, but it can't be a good day for any coach if NYT is willing to put out a statement (even via The Athletic) that your program is a disaster. I know this is a tear down and rebuild job, but man, there are ways to do that without it being a disaster.

This is an odd response to the statement with Bill and UNC firing off one-liners saying all is well, nothing to see here. The optics are so bad. The graphic has a horizontal line separating the two statements. The feel is not of unity, but of two ships passing in the night.

Can you imagine "we are on to Cincinnati" Bill flying off to be with his 24 year old girlfriend during a bye week in a very public relationship? He isnt the same man anymore.

His achievements cant be taken from him, that past success still remains, but they also dont mean he is still the same great coach he once was. If he was he would still be coaching here in NE.

During the regular season and having it blasted in news report. No, in fact Bill's life was extremely private when he was here during his run and up until 2019 he was very consistent in his media approach making statements like its the players that win and the coaches that lose.

Its very apparent that Bill is not the same guy he once was. Which is fine people are allowed to change and I'm sure the daily grind he put himself through was intense.
