The Biggest Question Mark On This Board

I don't see why we would keep anyone besides LaCosse (if healthy) and Izzo (for blocking) unless Saubert turns out much better than advertised. But you definitely need those 2 without Watson.

This is my view also. LaCosse is a JAG but the team needs someone to fill a uniform until Watson is back. Then I think you go with Watson and Izzo. The rest of those guys can climb on the Dontrelle Inman Express.

The point of the opening post of a thread is often about starting discuss, rather than stating opinions for others to react to.

It's true the opening post of a thread is often to get discussion going, it's just not often the case with yours. Usually yours are something akin to War ans Peace that invites rebuttal. is Also if you look at it with fresh eyes the title is "The Biggest Question Mark On This Board" but there's no question actually asked. It's a good subject and all but personally I enjoy your Patsfans versions of War and Peace, I felt a bit let down.

PS: Had anyone else (other than Ken) posted a thread with that title I too would have expected the thread to be fnord related ;)

OK, I believe the Belichick considers the TE position to be an important part of the offense, even while having a FB.

I am fine with 4 WR's, since 3 receive almost all the reps. However, I understand that this is a passing league, and that 5 is reasonable, although 5 usually has someone like Patterson as a 5th. This year, the injury and suspension issues dictate carrying a 5th WR in addition to any WR's on the PUP or PS.

With regard to TE, since we do NOT have enough strength at OT backup, we should carry 3 TE's; one will go when Watson is ready to integrated into the offense. We could go down to 2 if we had 4 solid OT, one of which could be the 6 OL/3rd TE.

Belichick's preference seems to be LeCosse, so if he is ready, he should be on the 53. If he is not, he will likely be on the roster for a day, perhaps instead of Hoyer, and then put on IR. I suspect that the second TE is Kendricks. The 3rd is likely to be Izzo. Saubert could make the roster instead of Izzo, if LeCosse is put on IR.

Honestly, N’Keal Harry’s gotta be 6’3”/6’4”
He ain’t 6’2” He’s listed as 6’4” everywhere but the combine. Dude looks like a light TE out there.

I suppose if LeCosse is very healthy and Belichick likes Kendricks a lot, we could go with 2 TE's with Izzo and Beck on the PS. We would then be in good shape when Watson arrives.

Finally, if everyone but Watson is found to be wanting or injured, then Belichick will acquire a veteran TE before Game 2, or perhaps even before Game 1.

As another poster indicated, a lot depends on LeCosse.

I suspect that TE will be a position of weakness this year and that is why the Patriots decided to go big with the WRs. We will also likely see a lot of Devlin on the field. So, 1 TE, FB, RB, and 2 WR sets. Depending on how well Michel runs without a FB, we may see more 3 WR sets.

The combine measurements are the most accurate.

Even at the combine, he was 6’ 2 7/8”. That’s plenty close enough to just call him 6’3”. That probably makes him 6’4” in shoes.

One name making the rounds on Twitter is Bucs second year UDFA Tanner Hudson. He could struggle to make the roster behind Howard, Brate (who would also be a trade candidate except that his contract is a disaster), and their blocking specialist. He looks kinda like a skinnier LaCosse in that he’s tall with a good catch radius and gets down the field well. He’s not going to contribute as a blocker, but he’s a guy they could send down the seam off playaction 10 snaps a game. He has 13 catches for 177 yards (both leading the league) and two TDs in the two preseason games.

fnord should be added to the list of question marks on this board.
And mosslost should start a poll asking what IS the biggest question mark on this board.
