The Annual Brady "Stinker" Game

Anyone think that Brady will have his annual 4 interception game in a Pats' loss? Or is that less likely with the weapons he has to operate with?

I've always wondered if Brady just needed to have that one awful game to get it out of his system...or maybe the lack of firepower caused him to try to do too much, and the turnovers snap him back to reality.

I guess this year will tell us if the "stinker" game is just something in Brady's DNA or if it is more a reflection of the skill players he has worked with.

My guess is that his stinker game will be a two interception game. If you look at it, he's had at most four or five bad passes out of ~60 attempts.

It may not come in a loss, but I'd predict either the game in Miami or the Redskins game.

Brady will have a semi stinker game tommorow throwing 2 TDs and 3 INTs. Hope I'm wrong

I'm inclined to agree with you. While the "one game at a time" mentality will never allow it, I'll bet that ending seasons in Denver and Indy have the Pats focused on playoff HFA being critical.

If the Pats get HFA, their season will obviously end with either:
1) A home playoff loss
2) A Super Bowl loss
3) A 4th championship

If they can stay healthy, I can't imagine a lot of teams want to take them on in Foxborough or in Arizona.

Brady will not have that 134.0 average QB rating all year and will not average only 6 incompletions per game like he has so far,He will have some poor games along the way - All QBs do including other great ones like Manning

I say Brady has his worst game with maybe 3 or 4 INTs in the game against Baltimore this year,Baltimore is truly the only defense I see on this years schedule who have the capabilities of manhandling Brady - although Pittsburghs D has been nearly flawless so far and we see them later as well.

Brady has had a 4 turnover game every year he has been in the league (five 4 INT games, one 3 INT/1 Fumble game). We've lost every single one of those games.

At this point you have to expect the same to happen again.

Yeah, I'm not convinced Brady will average a >130 passer rating the rest of the season, but I'm not yet convinced that he can't do it, either. [Of course, a lot of it will also depend on Box's "Big Uglies"--if they can keep Brady upright, the odds of a stinker go down, because Brady will have more time to make a good throw.]

It takes more than good throws obviously to keep that rating, It depends on the talent of the secondary Brady and his receivers face and how he deals with the all-pros which were not in New York or San Diego - which in my last post says Baltimore will be the BEST secondary NE will face later this year with Pittsburgh not far behind

Brady is a confident man. A successful one, too. It doesn't take much for a pass to be intercepted.

Will he need to try so hard? If he does, will Moss or Welker will it to a reception? Is he simply hungover? Did he feel obligated?

Every QB has at least one lousy game a year, so why even ask this question? Manning has them, Elway had them, they ALL have bad games.

I'm not talking about bad games. I'm talking about the one (and generally only one) game per year that Brady hacks up a hairball. As noted earlier it is typically a 4 turnover game that the Pats lose. It has become a reliable annual affair so I think the question is valid...particularly this year where he finally has the weapons to use.

I know he had a 4-INT game last year, but that doesn't make it an annual event, unless I am misunderstanding the meaning of annual.

Haven't looked it up, but the Kansas City game maybe?

Edit: I checked and it certainly was this game: Brady- 1 TD 4 INT; On a possibly related note, it's a lackluster cast that was behind Brady running the ball. The leading rusher was Patrick Pass. Not good.
