As much as we're worried about the defense, I still think they can and will beat every team on their schedule. Unless an opponent pulls a Giants D-line on the Pats, they will be the first team in NFL history to go 16-0 for a second time. Although people aren't seeing it right now, their defense will be a lot better off running a 4-3. In fact, their LB's will look a lot faster having Mayo, Thomas and Guyton. I think Guyton is going to break out this year because he is the prototypical weak side outside LB. Last but not least, he pretty damn fast for a 6-3 240 pound dude.

Until I see this revamped defense with no real veteran leaders left in the back 8, I say 11-5 with a division title in a very competitive division.

If I see a solid performance in week 1 as a defense which looks like it will gel together quickly be a cohesive unit then 12-4 or 13-3 are possibilities but this defense is too 'new' to go that far at this time.

I chose 14-2.

I keep hearing how tough this schedule looks, but I really don't see any real challenges.

Can someone enlighten me as to who we're supposedly going to lose to...

Maybe we lose in Indy and a late season game after clinching home field?

I don't see any games where the offense is below 30 points/ 400+ yards/ 35-40 minutes TOP.

The Saints could in theory out "shootout" us. However, that would probably take a monster special teams effort from Reggie Bush.

I'm going with 14-2, I say we lose one game somewhere along the way ( hopefully not @Miami cause I'm going to the game, woot! ) & the last game of the year @houston. We should have the #1 seed locked up by then & the Texans might be fighting for a playoff spot.

As fun as the 16-0 season was ( until the SB ) I dont wanna see that again, I still think if we had lost that game against the Ravens we would of won the SB.

I changed your post for you

(remember its extremely rare for any team to beat BB twice in one season)

If they lost to the Ravens they wouldnt of played as hard against the Giants ( would of been meaningless game for us ). I think it was the constant pressure of being undefeated every week that eventually wore them down. I think if they were 15-0 & lost to the giants the last week of the season they might have had a huge let down in the playoffs, but who knows.

i voted 14-2 i'd love to see 19-0 but i'll settle for any record as long as the record in the super bowl is 1-0

15-1 brings Lombardi #4 home to Foxboro.

I went with 16-0 cause I because we have to be the favorites in every game...(New Orleans being the one team I think gives us a run). I know we will probably end up losing a couple, but I can't honestly pick the games they will come in so for now I say UNDEFEATED...

I disagree that we lose at Jets in week two, especially if they start Sanchez- that offense will still be working itself out, never mind BB's record with rookie QB's. Rex Ryan doesn't have a show-stopping D.

But I do not want another undefeated season. I truly believe that the stress that accompanies a perfect season is pretty taxing and undesirable- I think it hit home after the Ravens game in '07 that teams were treating their games vs. Pats as their own personal superbowl.

I don't see us losing to a diciple of BB and the terrifying Kyle Orton

Here's my guess:

Mon 9/14 Buffalo W
Sun 9/20 at NY Jets W
Sun 9/27 Atlanta W
Sun 10/4 Baltimore L (they will be foaming at the mouth)
Sun 10/11 at Denver W
Sun 10/18 Tennessee W
Sun 10/25 at Tampa Bay ?? (Toss up at Wembley, especially if their grass is bad- its been replaced 5 times)
bye
Sun 11/8 Miami W
Sun 11/15 at Indianapolis W
Sun 11/22 NY Jets W
Mon 11/30 at New Orleans W (high powered offense yes, but D is questionable)
Sun 12/6 at Miami L (they will get a pre-game pep talk/lashing from Parcells)
Sun 12/13 Carolina W
Sun 12/20 at Buffalo W
Sun 12/27 Jacksonville W
Sun 1/3 at Houston W (Don't want to pull a Colts ['07] and throw the last game and stink up the Div. game)

We lost one to Mangini the year after he left, so it's not like it can't happen. I agree that the Pats should be favored in the game, but they'll be favored in every game they play, so it's just a matter of picking which upsets you think have the best shot of happening. In this case, I'd say that McDaniels has the advantage of intimately knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each of our offensive players, and having Champ able to cover Moss.

On the other side, McDaniels has been running the offense in practice against this same D for years. If any coach is well-equipped to spring some traps on us, it's McD, and while I don't think they'll win, it seems like a more realistic possibility, to me, than someone like the Jets beating us.

11-5 win the division....... maybe

I can't see them losing any games if TFB is healthy the whole year...Indy is always scary, but ever since they got their new stadium I don't feel like they have a homefield advantage. 19-0.

Going with 13-3

8-0 at home this year

losses at No, at miami, and at Buffalo

The reason being the law of avg is about to run out on us clubbing buffalo, so that is why I went with that..

It's going to be tough to win at New Orleans and then come back on a short week and also win at Miami.
