That 16-0 banner

16-0 is low key the most impressive overall accomplishment of the entire Brady/BB era.

Yeah titles are awesome but they can be achieved catching fire in 3 games or having a bit of the variance play out in your favour.

There is no way to stumble to an undefeated season.

The 16-0 season was an amazing accomplishment and something I try to never think about.

It should never have been hung.
Just like another "never should have been":

Yeah... I get why they did it initially... but it's a teeny bit Colts-y.
Here's something TOTALLY Colts-y, done by men who hated the Patriots and shat on the fans:

Here's how you know if it's a smart thing to do... put it on someone else:

...if the 49ers go undefeated in the regular season, then lose in the postseason, is it a good idea for them to raise a 16-0 banner?

...nope.
...if the Patriots have two or three bad seasons because their dumb razor salesman owner let their iconic local hero phenom quarterback go to Canada, and their cheap founder is finally forced out of the picture, is it a good idea to destroy the logo and uniforms they've worn proudly for 32 years?

got a match?
I know they did. Just think last night was perspective on how difficult 16-0 is and the fact that unlike this year’s Patriots nobody would accuse the one team that accomplished that feat of benefiting from an easy schedule. That schedule was absolutely brutal.

I think the banner was a good way to recognize that accomplishment and the loss in the last game of that season doesn’t take that away.
Should be "18-0" because that's what they did.

No one else in league history has done that in a season.

The more I think about it the less I dislike it.

16-0 is very hard. And that team did it against a schedule FAR more lethal than the one we’ve had so far. With ZERO eggs like the team laid last night. It’s a historic accomplishment and worthy of a banner.

I wasn't a big fan until someone convinced me with the proper context (just wish I remember 'who'), a fellow poster here said..........

Every year one team is guaranteed to hang a championship banner, but only one team has ever been able to raise a 16-0 banner.

Man, we are still being haunted by the ghosts of '07.....

After losing SB 42, I was convinced that 16-0 would never be accomplished again.....I got my hopes up in '15...and again this year....

So many bounces of the ball have to go your way....

The good news is that...now it's all about winning enough games to get a BYE. We only need to win 5 games to lock down a BYE, IMO.

Not sure I’d say it’s the most impressive. It might be more impressive than any individual Super Bowl win. But I think you’ll see a team go 16-0 before you see another QB or coach win 6+ Super Bowls

banners should be for Championships imo...

while 16-0 was a great accomplishment, the 16-0 banner is much like George Bush's "Mission Accomplished" banner...
I always saw 18-1 every time i looked at 16-0.
I would trade as many of the 16s as you want for the 1. 16-0 has a negative connotation to me.

You mean like Rex Ryan calling an ill-advised timeout?
