Problem is there is no one on this roster that can draw coverage off of him. He can be pressed man with safety help on every snap.

He’s not slow. Certainly not slower than Mike Evans who has become a star in this league. T-Mac is very smooth, elusive and can accelerate.

Also, Harry was NEVER hailed for his yac ability his college game tape was awful in this area. Harry was shorter at 6’2 3/8”, had small hands and a case of the dropsies, and Harry was stiff rigid and uncoordinated as an athlete. A lot of draft boards had Harry pegged as a 2-3rd rounder and certainly no higher than a late first.

T-Mac has been universally regarded as a top 10 pick for a reason.

To anyone who keeps mentioning Harry and T-Mac as clones…..if you're seriously comparing those two guys you gotta go study up before you continue talking football. Does anyone remember when the patriots actually drafted Harry and the whole fan base let out a collective "WHO!?!?" That guy was not supposed to go in the first round, that was Belichick, his ego and his ignorance of draft boards.

McMillan on the other hand is widely respected as the number 1 receiver in this draft, not including Hunter since he plays both sides. If you turn on a simple highlight tape you can also see that McMillan is taller, more athletic, stronger, faster, and more agile than Harry ever was. His hands are also 100x better.

McMillian's scouting reports don't seem to portray him as "elusive" or highlight any acceleration ability. NFL.com basically calls him a jump ball receiver who doesn't have great play speed:

Possession receiver with the size and ball skills to create big wins deep. He’s a linear route-runner who wears press coverage early and coasts too often on deep routes, but he has a feel for uncovering underneath and can play over the top of cornerbacks for easier jump-ball wins. McMillan is instinctive with a feel for adjusting his routes and working back on throws to make the quarterback’s job easier. He needs to show more consistent play speed and physicality to protect his workspace. His elite ball skills set him apart, though, providing a higher floor as a “Z” option with mismatch value in the slot.

This one says he isn't very fast, can't beat press coverage, and is an inconsistent route runner:

— Route tempo needs more urgency at the snap. — Route salesmanship is a little inconsistent from play-to-play. — Ability to consistently defeat press alignment and physical corners. — Questionable top-end speed to threaten defenses vertically when aligned outside.

As for N'Keal Harry, here are three different scouting reports highlighting his YAC ability in college:


His ability to make the most of each catch stood out as well with 32 explosive plays (20+ yards) where he used his long arms to fend off defenders after the catch.

—Yards-after-catch master who's physical running with the ball in his hands; looks to pick up extra yardage and doesn't go down easily.

Has some run-after-the-catch ability

Everyone loves throw out Mike Evans, Larry Fitzgerald, and Anquan Boldin every time a slow receiver is projected to go high in the draft but no one ever wants to mention the tons of duds over the years that couldn't run by anyone.

Treylon Burks, Laviska Shenault, JJ Whiteside, N'Keal Harry, Josh Doctson, Laquon Treadwell, Devante Parker, Dorial Green-Beckham, Devin Funchess, Kelvin Benjamin, Aaron Dobson, Jon Baldwin, etc.

The list of big physical plodders drafted high that failed is way longer than the small handful that succeed when they are slow.

It is one thing to be big and strong in college as a receiver and be able to outmuscle corners who will be selling insurance in another year or two but it is another thing against NFL corners.

Last year against Colorado (Travis Hunter) McMillan put up 5 for 38. He had some good games against corners who are likely to be day 3 to UDFAs but as a projected number 1 receiver he will be going up against guys closer to Travis Hunter than some of the future special teamers he beat up on.

Just for reference... Mike Evans exiting college was 6'5" 231 pounds, Ran a 4.5 at the combine, jumped 37" in the air and had agility drills like a slot receiver.

Mike Evans was another level... huge, wingspan like a lineman, ridiculously quick for his size... there's no comparison there.

If Tet had that kind of juice, he would have worked out and shown the world.

Well I don’t like any of the WR’s or T’s at 4 outside of Travis Hunter.

But what are ya gonna do? Trade down more than 1-2 spots and you could lose all of them or at the very least the guy you prefer.
