Ted Johnson hired by 98.5

After the Wilfork incident there was word that Ted was suffering symptoms of head trauma (violent at home) and then I remember him being critical of the Patriots for pressuring him to practice after concussions.

Is my memory correct?
Yes. There was an altercation between his wife and Ted in their home in 06. Both said it was a misunderstanding and charges were never filed. They later got divorced.

Yes. He basically blamed BB for overruling the doctors in 02 and had the red non contact jersey removed from his locker. BB said not true and went on to say if Johnson didn't feel he was healthy enough to play he should have spoken up. Ugly.

He said recently he still has bad days but can manage them easier.

They used to call him Ironhead when he played for the Pats.

I wouldn't judge him too harshly. He has had some CTE problems from all the hits to the head. IIRC, Johnson had some financial problems. His father used to own a BBQ joint in Conroe, Texas just NE of Houston.

Maybe it's me where I'm at in my stage of life but I find most of it unlistenable.(sic)
For the most part none of them know anything we don't already know.
So it boils down to gossip, guessing and innuendo.

Once he's been at 98.5 a while I'm sure he will. Remember that at least in the past he's been very, very critical of NE over the concussion thing, so I'm sure 98.5 will get that reactivated.
I used to listen to him a lot in Houston. May have been playing to the audience but he was big time anti-Patriots. I wasn't impressed

I can't believe I'm saying this but on EEI this week is Smerlas and DeOssie and I felt old skool. Kinda liked it. They were pretty tame.

he has early-onset Alzheimer's disease. he apologized last week about the comments he made about wilforks wife. I have no idea what they were. he said he called her and apologized the day after the day he made the comments. I like him. I think he has had some serious health problems. he played his ass off when he was a patriot. and he's got some great stories to tell.

CTE or not, that shouldn’t be an automatic get out of jail free card when it comes to accountability. I’m sure he’ll fit right in with the slime at 98.5.

So the next time Ted says something completely inappropriate we'll blame it on Alz or CTE?

I used to love when they were on the Big Show ... it was good football talk. The Belichick interview with them was always excellent because they mostly asked him questions they knew he would answer.

Somehow as times changed younger listeners were attracted to drama and it took over.
I hate the drama ... I like old fashioned sports talk and interviews ... old fart stuff.

He is an ass.

Bring back Pete Sheppard!!
I loved Pete ... he always filled in for Ordway and never understood why he didn't have his own gig. Yeah ... he's a homer but so what - I'm a homer also. he has a show in florida now.
He hates CHB - always insulting him on Twitter ... I love it.

I'm pushing 50 myself and couldn't agree more.

Pete Sheppard is a good dude. His on-air fight with Chris Nilan was epic.
