From Reiss:

Perhaps preparing for the possibility of being without TE Benjamin Watson, the Patriots had two free-agent tight ends in for tryouts on Tuesday -- Walter Rasby and Lamont Hall.

An 11-year veteran, Rasby was with the Patriots in 2006 training camp for a short stretch, filling a void when Daniel Graham and Garrett Mills were sidelined. He was released and then picked up by the Jets, who released him before the season began.

Hall, a seven-year veteran, played for the Saints from 2000-2005, and was with the Packers in 1999.

Both players are primarily blockers who haven't had big numbers in the passing game. They haven't played in the league this year.

Is this telling about the Watson injury?? Hope not, just developing a list of folks to call in case.

I think with a rsoter spot open..they MAY bring one in..if they don't IR him...he could be back Thomas and Graham more rec...the new TE blocker..maybe more taking Graham's place..good that Graham can do both...

If Watson were done they'd have likely IRed him. This could be an indication we need a warm body to replace him for a week or two though.

if we end up winning this week...we will see more such tryouts..if we win the div this week i dbout starters will play much in the next two games unless BB sees an opportunity to get the bye

not a great sign re: Watson.

Maybe BB wants a TE who is not a drive killing turnover machine?
