Super Bowl: Pats vs the defending champs

Seattle's D Line is not that big. Their biggest DL Williams is just 311 lbs.

They wound up with four DT's on IR (Mebane, Hill, Smith and Anthony Williams). Mebane in particular was a big loss. Hill was a rookie who was having a good year and went down in Week 17.

From what I see they only have 3 DT's currently on the active roster. Since they run a 4-3, I think a heavy dose of Blount and Gray will wear those guys out early.

Somehow, I do not think Blount will be a factor in this game - just like the AFC championship game last year. It will be on Tom's shoulders, which means that OL play will be key.

Seattle has an impressive Defense. It is aided by the cacophony in Seattle's stadium created by the fans trying to stay warm in the rain and mist.

But their Offense is Fran Tarkenton II, running around scrambling and buying time, and then throwing passes to unimpressive receivers who eventually get open.

This is a team that can be blown out when the Pats score 25 or more.

I think we showed in the GB game that we can cover and keep a QB like that contained.

Sick of talking about balls. Lets talk SB

Kind of sad that the pregame thread of a Super Bowl involving us has to be bumped, and only has 4 pages.

This game looks like an afterthought already.

Well, here is an amazing stat:

Seahawks defense has allowed 2 TD on the last 43 second-half drives.

OTOH, Patriots defense has allowed 2 TD on the last 51 second-half drives.

Like I said before after what Terrell Owens did in SB39 I'm not assuming injured = ineffective. THose guys will play and I expect them to play well.

That's how I feel. What more can be said until a final report and ruling happens. Practice starts tomorrow and the that's when we'll install the game plan. Hope it doesn't include 11 PSI footballs. OK, I'll stop now.
