Suh?

I have always liked Suh, even back to college where even and untrained eye could watch and say "Holy crap, who is that guy?"

Yes, he is chippy and cheap. The kind of guy you love on your team and hate if he isn't (similar to Rodney Harrison). He also provides some position flexibility as a traditional interior DT or even outside as a BIG DE (like Guy). Although he didn't have a great year with the Rams he stepped up in the playoffs and could provide the same level of impact for the Pats.

Although the holes at WR and TE are glaring I still think the Pats need to get younger \ better along the defensive line. Bring Suh in gives the Pats more flexibility, they could take a flyer on Simmons or draft some developmental prospects in the later rounds.

The question is value, maybe #21 over 3 years structured in a way that he would be unlikely to see the whole deal.
Chippy and cheap? How about criminal and thug?

Suh is a quitter and extremely mercurial. Does not seem like he is a team player at all! Marcus Cannon's remark was telling, he does NOT have respect of his peers. One thing about BB, they can overlook some flaws but NOT a player who is known for being a quitter and selfish as hell.

Would much rather see them sign TJ Yeldon to further strengthen the offense.

Don't need no boy named Suh, no nasty piece of work named Suh either, thank you very much.

Wtf is going on with EDGE Derrick Morgan? He’d probably be a nice/cheap fit..?

All the he's said, now she said: NO.

Rodney was pretty dirty. I don't think he was trying to injure people but he was definitely doing all the **** he could after the whistle to draw a foul or throw someone off their game. There's some videos that look like he was trying to injure people.

Suh is pretty dirty. But Rodney did what he did to win games. He cared. I think Suh does what he does because of a personal desire to inflict injury or something. He doesn't seem to give a **** about winning games.

A couple of considerations here.

First, no major signing will come until after May 10. This (I believe, I could be off by a day or two) is the cutoff point when FA signings no longer count against the comp pick formula. If they were to sign Suh today, they would be essentially trading a 2020 3rd round pick for him.

Next, what does the current cap look like? It's going to cost some $5 million to sign rookies, plus an additional $5 will be kept for late additions.

If this all leaves enough money to sign Suh to a Revis-style deal, then I'm all for it.

A revis style deal would be 1 year >10 mil (revis got 12 if memory serves)? Hard pass on that kind of cash.

No thanks to Albert Haynesworth Part II.

I’m with @Sciz . If they can get the money right, I’d much rather McCoy. I feel he’d be invested in winning a SB, not just lining his pocket.

It is easy to dismiss this idea at first glance. But I stepped back and tried to think of different scenarios that WOULD make it work....and I couldn't find a single one. Why would you pay a LOT of spare cap space for a bad guy who at best is an inconsistent talent at this point. ESPECIALLY given the fact that you aren't in horrible shape at the position in the first place at the position and DT is the strength of this year's draft, AND there are better and less expensive options (Alan Bailey for example).

In my ideal fantasy world, A trade for McCoy would rock my world. And I never hear Ziggy Ansah's name mentioned as a possible acquisition

379 players, an average of almost 12 per team, had at least 1 full sack last season. Morgan wasn’t one of them.

The problem isn’t that he’s “chippy and cheap.” The problem is he is incredibly lazy.

IMHO he could have been one of the all time greats at his position. However, he has shown he’s perfectly happy giving a half-assed effort. His phenomenal talent takes him pretty far, but if I was a fan of his (which I am not) I’d lament what really could have been...

Suh was as dominant in college as Quinnen Williams, if not more.
I can’t remember ever seeing one single defensive player dominate a game more than Suh did when a heavily-outmatched Nebraska team almost pulled a huge upset over Texas in that Big XII CCG way back when.
