Stork NOT Released; Traded to the Redskins

I thought they'd keep Stork because he can play Guard or even Tackle in a pinch.

Probably the concussions.

Too bad, I liked him. Always nice to have at least one mean guy on the oline. Surprised they couldn't get something for him.

You're surprised that they couldn't get something for a tempermental, injury prone OL? At best they could have gotten a conditional 7th rounder.

It paid of the draft pick, thanks Brian.

Damn, I wanted them to convert him to tackle. Now, I'm surprised they couldn't get a 6th for a SB champion Center even with his injury history.

No use speculating on his release. Doubt we'll be privy to all the reasons. Thanks for your service Bryan Stork, you will be remembered as the starting center of the New England Patriots 4th super bowl title.

Not sure why you think people are speculating. Everything mentioned is pretty common knowledge except for the information about him being wildly inconsistent, temperment wise, with teammates and the media.
Concussion history. Temper issues. Inconsistent play.

I like Stork, but I am good with this move, because it signals that BB just isn't going to let another OL turn ot crap because of players who cant be counted on to be available.
We are better off with a group of OL who are likely to make it 16 games than Stork, Vollmer, Wendell and those type of guys who won't likely be able to play by January.

A little bit surprised since i always viewed him as a smart player with potential after his rookie season. I hope he regains form if he makes another team

Nate Washington too, and before that Kearse, Biggars, and Donald Brown. This seems a bit unusual although we know that BB will give guys a chance to catch on with another team

So who is next Harbor? I would think a guy like him should at least bring a late pick, if only to keep him away from the desperate Rats.

Yes, I'm a little surprised. Points to his concussion problems being major despite playing recently. That or something else happened off the field.

So andrews wins the job. The entire left side of the line is set with solder snd thuney. Hopefully mason will be ready to go soon and cannon can hold up. The line is not THAT bad to be honest. A little worried about cannon and solder though.

Worried about Solder our Best OL-Man when healthy???

Wow. How many OC can step in and play at RT in a pinch? Stork is gifted. I wonder what the real story is behind this release. Andrews playing so well, I'm sure, played a part.

A little surprising but not really. He was becoming too unreliable with his concussions. I dont think the fights in practice helped either. Its probably best for him if he hangs it up now and tries to pursue some other endeavor that isnt putting his long term health at risk

Andrews' reliability wins it for him here. I thought, after his rookie year, that a Stork was going to lock up that spot for 8-10 years. Seemed like he was a steal. Still a good pick, as he really contributed to the title two years ago. Disappointing he didn't pan out. I have a feeling that attitude (or anger) contributed to this release - even if health was the #1 reason...
