-Leads the league in field goals made with 16.
16/17, 94.1%
11/11 extra points
-2nd in the NFL with 81.3% touchbacks.

I guess that leg is fully healed now.

It's the touchbacks I marvel at. I'm surprised it's as low as 81% to be frank.

That 54 yard FG got very little talk yesterday and this morning.

This is the kicker you pay elite money for. In addition to outstanding accuracy, the opponent rarely gets a chance to return kicks. Worth every penny

I'm finally confident when he gets ready to kick the ball and couldn't be happier.

When there's so much else to talk about, it's not surprising, but the Gost yesterday was fantastic. It's not just that he made the kicks, but the way he made them. SOLID! :rocker:

No, they need competition for him on the roster. They did it for Mesko why not Gost?

A so-so year or two left things a little interesting with him but he is absolutely killing it right now. Dare I say it but right now he is kicking better than AV ever did (excpet for you know those few clutch moments).

So glad they cut him and replaced him with some jag off the street like everyone here wanted.

And he passed AV for most 50+ yard field goals as a Patriots yesterday. BB clearly has a lot of confidence in him (as he has said in his pressers) and it showed by sending him out for the 54-yarder yesterday.

An interesting fact:

Gostkowski FG% in wins/FG% in losses: 86.3%/80.4%
Vinatieri, Patriot years, FG% in wins/FG% in losses: 85.1%/74.7%

I remember that missed kick. Cut the man!

He's been perfect this year. You can tell by how accurate the kicks are; all are pretty much down the middle with plenty of distance.

That 54-yarder could have easily been 64 like those FOX announcers said.

He's killing it this season. Gost to be good.

I think something that goes understated is that it's pretty normal for kickers to experience a great deal of fluctuation like this year over year. It's the nature of performing over a very small sample size. Name a kicker, any kicker, and then go look up his career stats. Chances are he had some down years.

Coming into the season, lots of people regarded Nick Folk and Mason Crosby as the worst starting kickers in the NFL, and they're a combined 26 for 27 so far.

This kind of fluctuation is pretty standard when you're being evaluated by 30 or 40 plays per year. It's to be expected.
