This is the perfect summary and take down of the NFL's deflategate fiasco. I know its probably all for naught, but I still like that there is a growing opinion that it is all crap.

It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Yes, the Patriots are scanning last year's IR list to see what dilapidated, injury prone, broken down offensive linemen, defensive linemen, running backs, and receivers they can "kick the tires on"...It just frees up more $$ to bring in a FA or sign our own.

Use the typical 1st round pick funds on Matt Forte... He's older and you won't get as many years out of him as you would a draft pick, but he would be a great piece for Brady to make a run with.It just frees up more $$ to bring in a FA or sign our own.
You overlook the fact that one of the main advantages of drafting well is that you get players on cap friendly rookie contracts. (Consider what Malcolm Brown's value would be as a free agent, versus what he cost.) Any team that wants to "free up $$" can simply pass on their pick when they are called. Because you have more money but fewer quality players, it is a bit misleading to suggest (not necessarily intentionally) that the loss of draft picks is somehow advantageous. It just frees up more $$ to bring in a FA or sign our own.
Does this mean the Ras-IR-Dowling could be coming back?Yes, the Patriots are scanning last year's IR list to see what dilapidated, injury prone, broken down offensive linemen, defensive linemen, running backs, and receivers they can "kick the tires on"...

Back off, brother. Too late. Line forms behind me...Too bad I'm already taken because otherwise I'd unleash my irresistible charms on Steph.
