Stefon Diggs visiting Patriots

At least with Diggs you are getting an known commodity. It will be a long time, maybe never, until we can trust the Patriots to draft a WR. It has been one disaster after another.. You would think with the new regime, they would have improved, but look at the Slo' Poke instead of McConkey disaster:

known commodity off ACL injury?

Probably just a PR gesture on the part of both the player and the Pats. I have no interest in him whatever, nor in any of the other "proven" (i.e. washed up) WR's we waste time fantasizing about.

No thanks. Some guys just suck, he’s one of them.
Oh don't get me wrong huck.. in no way am I saying we should have kept him.. just saying he was a first round pick.. BB a guy who's big on guys who can play multiple positions.. I'm shocked he was never tried at TE here... McCourty who busted at CB in his 2nd year was moved to FS even..

Yeah, I know. We don't know how the well the knee will recover (see JuJu S-S), but when healthy, he was a real number 1 WR and not some draft flop. The Patriots are exceedingly talented at drafting WR flops, but have done fairly well with FA WRs (except Sanu, etc.). Drafting a WR, at least for the Patriots, is really dangerous.

That being said, the hard, and sometimes frozen, playing surface at Gillette is not a good place for sore/weak knees.....

Highly agree. It was the mentality that "the guy can be coached up here" on WRs.. fitting square pegs in round holes mantra. Ignoring draft scouts that you employ... it all led up to the roster where it is offensively.

Also the team doesn't want to give up draft assets that they so desperately need. I believe the door is open for diggs to sign and I wouldn't rule out them looking at Cooper. I know it can be mind boggling for us as fans as we want talent. No Matter who's on the roster come week 1.. expect to see a fluent, competitive, professional offense under Josh.

Stefon Diggs Knees will be fine give him a Two or Three year deal until we can develop a Good young WR.

Twin A Cooper kinda disappeared in Buffalo: I thought he would have shown a little more than he did pass.

I think it will happen twin.. have to remember diggs camp said he still had some other visits scheduled.. before they accepted an offer.. also don't sleep on getting Cooper still... the team is being calculated on thier moves.. I think diggs wouldn't be excellent for Drake...

Also the more the media talk on how bad the WR corps is should be putting big chip on Pop, boutee shoulders bothlate round picks..

Yeah twin.. he did.. I don't know what went wrong in Buffalo.. he doesn't seem like he's been sought after highly this off season.. but I still think we should make a move on him.

Felger thought that and his constant complaining about Moss when he was here may have contributed to his exit. I will never fogive Felger for this.
What was Felger complaining about when Moss was in NE?
Moss "took the top off the defense"; defenses had to keep a safety deep which opened up the short game and the run game. When Moss left, the Patriots offense was exposed as fraudulent and it has been ever since.
Although Moss was not the same, he was clearing out Grand Canyon sized holes in the middle of the field for other players. DB’s still had to respect him. I think he had just enough gas left in the tank for that season and then wait until the off-season to release/trade him. Like the 2006 season with Branch, it was a mistake letting Moss go.

I agree with this post.

They had to trade Moss. He gave them no alternative.

The Branch situation was different.

At the very least the Pats would be remiss if they don't take a good hard look at a 'team first' guy like Cooper. Was last year's fall off situational or an indicator he hit the wall at 30? If he's got a bit left, he'd be a solid add

UGA you are one of my favorite WR evaluators: very sad you don't like Aiyuk.
Lol. I don’t have an issue with the TALENT. I’m just gun shy about football character.

I want dawgs who get open, and catch the damned ball while also being solid locker room dudes.

I don’t want dudes who publicly *****, say things like “I have the best hands in football” while dropping everything thrown at them, running incorrect routes etc.

Also, I’ll admit to being cheap when it comes to giving up draft picks. I don’t like it!

I really believe there are some DUDES in rounds 2-6 in this draft who could contribute

I get it... not gonna lie but I'm warming up to Dont'e Thornton and Arian Smith. Seems like we can get em on Day 3: and not in Second Round in a BB type Draft. I don't mind a guy Drafted on Day 3 Busting but in the First and Second Rounds that sucks. I know you have watched Arian Smith First hand and noted his drops but his Speed is awfully tempting. IF we get him on Day 3 I would be happy hopefully we can coach up those hands.

We like Aiyuk but Diggs is a better signing between the 2 ACL options. No need to waste a draft pick. Hunter plus another taller 6'4" guy long term (Chase and Higgins model). The ACL guy is only temporarily filling a hole.

Aiyuk is Younger and could be here for a while with Maye.

Chung was awful at FS before he was great at SS.
