We were 6-2 last year as well, but we never got clubbed with the exception of the Ravens game like we did today to a less then talented opponet... If we beat Pitt next week, then today is forgotten, but a performence like that the one we had today, no need to stay up past ten next sun night...

I don't know what last season has to do with this season, other than being 6-2 in both. Then again, we were 6-2 in 2003 and won a Super Bowl.

As for getting beat by a lot last season, still not sure what 2009 has to do with anything, but we also lost big to New Orleans by 21 points, a bigger margin than today's loss or the Ravens loss. And we lost by 31 to Buffalo and won a Super Bowl in 2003.

If we play like we did today against anyone, even the Lions, we're likely to lose. That goes without saying. But there are lots of ups and downs in a season, and just because you play poorly one week doesn't mean you'll continue to play poorly the next.

I'm not happy about losing, but maybe we needed to be humbled after a crazy week of non-stop gushing about the Patriots and the Patriots Way and how brilliant BB was and how great this team was.

If the Pats play like they played the Ravens (a very similar team to the Steelers) then they win.

And we can afford to struggle a bit against the Colts and still win.

The Pats cannot afford to "struggle a bit" with any team. When you are as young as the Pats are you cannot afford to make mistakes and turn the ball over and expect to beat anyone. The Pats will be at their best the rest of the season when they play mistake free football, dont turn the ball over and dont give up big plays.

While the Pats are 6-2, they sky is not falling, but I do think the Pats start got fans expectations set a little high and made fans think the Pats are a lot better than they really are. The Pats are a good team, and a playoff team, just not the best team in the league

They've won games this year when they struggled, they made big plays when needed, but your right they didnt turn the ball over, that was huge today.

Yeah, I take that back they have won games that they struggled. Turnovers are the key to this team

No one is saying we won't stay positive, as fans we root and hope for them to play well and win each week, but as a fan, you also have to be a realist, and realism says, that there is a great, great chance that this team will lose the next two very, very tough games against arguably 2 of the best team in football, nothing wrong with being realistic, it doesn't mean you're not a fan.

So yes, do I think we'll be 2 games behind the Jets after 2 weeks ? Yup, I really do, and I don't expect to win the division, I'm hoping for a wildcard, go as far as we can, let the young team continue to mold as we add 6 more very high draft picks in 2011 to an already young and upcoming team.

Hogwash...

This team will thump the daylights outta Pittsburgh, then manhandle Indy when they come to town. The Patriots have a very good record of handily beating opponents after a loss. In fact, IIRC, the Patriots have only lost 2 games in a row ONCE since Belichick took over.

There is no way that Coach doesn't use this loss to motivate the h3ll outta this team and get them ramped up to face the Steelers.

I'm just chalking the loss to it being a bad day and bad luck. Things will be better going into the game against the Steelers since the team will learn from this and become stronger.

Go Pats!
