Start Joe Milton in Week 18

Wish they could just forfeit. By rule that goes in the books as a 2-0 loss.

Yup, that's me.

I really feel like the franchise doesn't owe me anything, but it's still sad to see how bad it is. They need to have a clean sweep and then attract the best possible people in the NFL to rebuild it, not the current Rod Rustian cluster eff there is on Route 1 today. Fire everyone, instead of waiting another year and ruining Maye and this opportunity they have now. If they foul this off season up and then fix it next year, they'll be 5-6 years further down the road before they can right the ship. The time to do it is now.

Ownership has to know this.

What are they going to say? His job is on the line.

They got in trouble because word came out that they were feeling things out.

I believe this is hush/hush, and only less than a handful know.

Another thread hijacked.

Yay Milton's starting!

I think that Mayo will pretty much “be told” to sit Maye and start Milton to evaluate him, with an aura of “don’t worry bro this game isn’t gonna make or break your job security”. In reality it’s true, because they’ve probably already decided to keep or cut him.

So Milton plays, probably makes a couple flash plays but also a few big mistakes. They also maybe start Polk and Baker… so the offensive output won’t be the best.

Meanwhile the Bills will play their starters for a half and put up 20+ points before sitting, which will be a bridge too far for Milton, Polk and company to match.

Ultimately it will be a loss and Mayo and Wolf will feel happy and excited to get that haul for the top pick, before both getting fired/“moved to a new role” within the next couple of days.

Ultimately though I AM a little interested to see Milton play.

Lets get the rookie some real game experience...

no ulterior motives here, no sireee bob kraft...

just some good old fashioned live action game experience for our future back up of the future...
It enures that Maye gets out of this season healthy, and we can at least catch a glimpse of the potential of Milton as a backup to Maye (especially with a sucky offense for which I won't hold him responsible for the outcome as he's had very little actual game time). Basically, a Win-Win. Especially if we loose and keep the #1 Pick (NO Travis Hunter please! Trade the pick and actually fill holes with solid if not better players for 2025 and beyond).

You’ll know they’re not trying to win if they announce in public that Milton is starting and Maye is OUT midweek to give Buffalo time to plan for it. Although I guess the gameplan to defend Milton isn’t really that different than Maye, you just don’t have to worry as much about him hitting you with the short pass as much, and he’s likely a lot harder to tackle.

more like it ensures we lose the game. which is much more important than squeezing out a meaningless 4th victory this year.

It would generate more interest in the game.

I like it. But, what if he does good?
That is a good problem to have.

Hopefully he doesn’t play well enough to win.

If he DOES win I want to see a dominant performance, not a win by a hair.

Yes!!!McDaniels still lives in Massachusetts. Does Brian B stay or does he join his father in UNC?
I'm would be ok with McDaniels returning as OC he always impressed me. Certainly not as head coach though. Not up on Vrabel at all, we need to go forwards, not backwards.

Yes, his HC days are all behind him.. besides he's made generations of wealth from HC opportunities he's had.. he would love to come in and work with Drake...

As one of the very very few draft 2 QBs people with a QB early and Milton late, I don't want him to start because he might win... and I don't think I've ever wanted to tank during the season, ever. I want the 1st, do a couple of trade downs and draft tackles with the 1st 2 picks.

My big concern with starting Joe Milton is this, he will win the game.

Start Jacoby, I trust him with the first pick in the draft.

Baker will have 2nd/3rd degree burns on his hands from Milton fastballs.
That assumes the balls aren't all just sailing over the lighthouse, bound for Dorchester and places beyond.
