Spikes playing with ligament tear in his knee

Tough son of a *****.

I know he's limited, but I think there's a place for a guy like him on every team. I hope they keep him.

Really stepped up his play since Mayo went down. He seems to be in position more so than he was in previous seasons. On top of that he brings character to this defense and is fun to watch play. Reminds me somewhat of Willie McGinest, but less talented.

We are going to need him. Hopefully we get the bye and get him some rest.

Is the ligament completely tore, or is it a sprain???

reminds me on mankins playing with a tear...not many guys can man up and do that.

Imagine if he was out for the year too? which is almost sounds like he very well could be if he couldn't handle pain

you know hes limited .......how about hes been limited because hes running around with a torn ligament. Un freakin believable

i wouldn't doubt if hightower has similar issues too.

You could see at times he it looked like he was running in quicksand. Spikes isn't the fastest guy in the world, but it was clear he was playing really hurt.

This year, he’s taken things a step further. Spikes will play in all 16 games despite a knee ligament injury that has limited him in practice for about two months (a league source said Spikes will require surgery when the season ends).

I don't see the word "tear" in there...

If he needs surgery in the offseason, he definitely tore it. It probably isn't a complete tear, but why have surgery on a ligament that isn't torn?

Why is the thread title saying he has a tear and link to an article that doesn't say has a tear? Misleading at best

Walk it off, man. Walk it off.

Let's just hope like hell he can finish out the year. That's really the most important thing here.

There will be plenty of time for him to get fixed up, rest, and recover during the offseason.

I want Spikes back. He may be a liability in coverage, but he makes up for it with toughness, tenacity, and big play when healthy.

Not misleading at all. The article strongly suggests it is a tear. It was confirmed it is a tear in Mike Petraglia column. If you have a ligament injury that requires surgery, it is a tear. You don't have surgery on a sprain (which is a mild tear).

Tape an aspirin to it and get back out there

What is a "league source" and how would one know about what's inside Spikes' knee?
