Would I be in the minority if I didn't see Washington as a roster lock? Especially given Kendall Thompkins who was an excellent KR in college appears to be getting such rave reviews.

Pretty safe bet. Washington is an elite KR. Kendall Thompkins isn't a KR, but also is not on the Patriots.

His brother, Kenbrell is a Patriot. He was not a returner either, so not sure why you think he was an excellent returner?

My mistake; thanks for the accurate information. I was looking at other skill position on the roster and messed up the first name when I was looking at our rookies scouting reports out of college.

I agree; I would not consider Leon Washington to be a lock whatsoever.

On offense I would consider there to be twelve roster "locks" (excepting of course an injury-related move):

QB (1) - Tom Brady
RB (2) - Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen
TE (1) - Rob Gronkowski
WR (3) - Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce
OL (4) - Nate Solder, Logan Mankins, Ryan Wendell, Sebastian Vollmer
ST/WR (1) - Matthew Slater

In addition I would consider Mallett, Ballard, Cannon, Connolly and Svitek to be near-locks to make the roster. I would place Washington at the top of the next tier of "probable" to make the roster.

leon washington will be a help this year IMO
