are all screaming about Spygate, and how they were robbed. I can't remember them getting so upset last time we played (probably because Carolina was awful), but when I point out that New England didn't have a tape on Carolina, they are convinced that the Patriots taped Carolina's practice.

Apparently, the Patriots snuck into the facilities of all 31 teams and taped them!

Really, Goodell needs to GO.

Tell them they should be used to it. The school systems have been robbing them of a quality education for years.

Remind them that the problem was where the Pats taped when they were recording other teams beside the Panthers and that should help.

Just remind your Friends and Family that several of the 2003 Panthers including 3 of the 5 starting O line men were associated with a Dr James Schott who was distributing steriods that year.

Some time during the ranting of raving by your family members, did by chance Jon Kasay happen to kick off out of bounds?

Did the Pats have tape on Jon Kasay and know that he would kick the ball out of bounds? Because that was likely the single most crucial play of that game.

Also the Pats' offense took a while to get going in that game (0 points 1st quarter, 0 points 3rd quarter). They must have been doing a pretty awful job of using all their cheats if they couldn't figure out how to score to begin the halves, you know, after they had spent all of that time cheating and scheming in cheaterly ways.

The SpyGate thing is so ridiculous because nobody can tell you what they think the Pats were actually doing. When you give them the simple, Occam's Razor explanation (where they taped, not THAT they taped) people just mutter and stammer and give you the "Yeah but still."

Nobody can tell you what sort of advantage was gained, if any, but nobody seems to bring up the 49ers of the 80s or the Broncos of the 90s, whose cheating was not only documented but also tangible, in that you can see how they gained the advantage. We don't hear about that, though. Thanks ESPN!

yawn

who cares about this stuff really

majority of panther fans don't care about spygate. And my anecdotal evidence trumps yours.

We're gonna win.

Also remember that our owner could have came out and publicly put the tires to the media the way the Saints did and chose not to, and that's why we still hear about this overblown and overhyped story. Again, when is the last time anybody heard about Bountygate? That's what I thought.

Spygate is so funny to me.

Because that ignorant person who always tries to bring it up doesn't realize that their team, and most if not all other teams, did the exact same things before.

Ladanian Tomlinson had it right

if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'

It's pro football........screw the asterisk......nothing can compromise the drunken stupors at the hand of superbowl victories

don't care who's cheating.......only care about the outcome

I have come to embrace the hate. Just remind them that it wasnt for nothing. We got three rings out of it. And stomped their dreams in the process.

Unfortunately, these are all transplants from New England who never followed football (all Yankee/Red Sox fans) but have now suddenly developed not only a love for the Panthers, but for heaven's, sake, DUKE! They've been down there 20 years.

This makes sense to me. Why would Panthers fans care? After all, the last time the Patriots had played Carolina before that Super Bowl was 3 years earlier, when George Seifert was your coach.

Now, it could be that they never changed the signals in all those years, but ...

Anyway, go to twitter and type in Spygate and you will see a million posts by Panthers fans about being cheated.

I just spent a weekend in Baltimore and never heard a word about Spygate. Why patsfans here continue to post messages about it seriously confuses me. If we let it go unsaid, you know, it just might go away!

That's okay, it's just a joke anyway. Tell them the southern lifestyle has obviously affected their ability to think

It could be worse. I have Indiana friends and family.

The Colts fan base was taught by Bill Polian for a decade to be a whiny excuse-making blame-anyone-but-ourselves bunch, so every time I discuss the NFL with Colts fan relatives I hear the "you've never won anything without cheating... you stole rings from us...Peyton was better... Luck is better now... blah, blah, blah..."

I'd rather discuss politics rather than NFL with them, even though they are tea partiers and I am a Democrat. There is more common ground there than Colts fans discussing football with someone grounded in reality.

People conveniently forget that Tom Brady didn't become TOM BRADY, two-time NFL MVP, until after Spygate. It was then the team took form as the perennial offensive juggernaut. Plus, continued high win totals, super bowl appearances, etc...

I liked three posts in this thread just because of Commodus.
