Good question. The type of font plays a role. The players build plays a role. Smaller players look better with smaller numbers in the 20’s so it doesn’t look like it swallows up their jersey like Dion Lewis wearing 33 did. 39 looked horrendous on Maroney. Bigger backs look better with higher numbers in the 30’s but only a handful of backs were able to pull off 28 like Corey Dillon and Fred Taylor. Blount looked funky with 29. 34 would’ve been perfect.They’re just numbers, how can they look “good” or “bad” on specific guys’ uniforms?
