Mixon's Domestic Abuse case took him off the Pats Draft List guaranteed..

As for Calvin Johnson, I don't see the Lions trading his rights. Nor do I see him coming back into football.. Otherwise, he'd have gotten a TV gig. Pretty sure he's bitter with Goodell over the whole "catch" thing

You are probably correct, but a lot of people said the Patriots would never trade for Corey Dillon.

I remember listening to WEEI when they announced the Patriots traded for Dillon. Felger was a guest & he went on & on about how he hated it & he wondered what Myra Kraft thought about this move.

Dillon's wife was bleeding from the mouth when he was arrested for Domestic abuse.

Nobody ever expected Belichick to roll the dice on Albert Haynesworth either.

Mixon is going to be in the NFL next year, & Belichick loves Value.

If I was going to bet. I would say Mixon ends up with the Bengals.


Calvin Johnson is a long shot, but it is a wish list not a prediction. People on these boards write about trading for Larry Fitz year after year & he is still with the Cardinals.

I am not sure how long you have been a member of Patsfans, but last year there were many posts on this board wishing the Pat's would trade for Calvin Johnson.

I don't expect it to happen, but look at the title of this thread.....

There are many links out there suggesting that Johnson quit football because he was fed up.....

On my wish list..... I was hoping that after a year off, Johnson may want to comeback & play for a winner.

I never said I expected it to happen.

Some clown asked me who would we cut? Imagine someone thinking Calvin Johnson was not good enough to make our team.

That is the only reason I compared him to Amendola.

I like Amendola, but I know his talented is not on the level of a Calvin Johnson & asking who we would cut is ridiculous.

I actually think that guys like Dillon & Ray Rice who hit their wife or girlfriend are worse than a guy who punches a girl in a bar who hit him.

If you have a wife or girlfriend, you should care about them & protect them.

Should you care about a girl in a bar who hits you? What he did was wrong, but I can understand why he did it.

I can't understand why guys hit people they love.

Neither can I. Childhood witnesses of such abuse never get over it.

That said, people are different. I know in Corey's case, as a football player he really stood out for me and I became a lifelong fan when he was with the Bengals; he was one of the few pro athletes who "got it", and was humbled by the importance of his accomplishments, athletically. I couldn't believe it when we got him here.

So I tend to have significant interest in the demons or pent-up frustrations that he may be carrying around, and accept his remorse for whatever happened, and pray for peace for him and his family.

Wish List

1. Sign Butler to a long term contact that keeps him happy and gives us the best secondary in the AFC
2. Sign Hightower to a multi year deal and then find out he turned down millions more from the Steelers and Rats
3. Trade JAG to the Browns for 12, 33 and next year's 2nd rounder
4. Find out that goodell contracted an agonizing career-ending case of syphilis from Mike Kensil, watch the league replace him with an impartial commissioner who isn't blood brothers with the jets, Maras and Rooneys, and see all other ex-Rat employees purged from the NFL offices
