On the Roughing call, it's been discussed pretty well (IE he picked Brady up, and Slammed Brady on the ground), but it was also clearly a penalty because of the fact that he had ample opportunity to let up before taking Brady down.

He took three additional steps in order to drive Brady into the ground after the ball was gone. He didn't know the ball was gone, since his head was down, but I don't believe that makes a difference in the QB protection rule.

The officials aren't supposed to decide if the defensive player knew what he was doing was illegal or not, that'd muddy it up too much.

If you watch the replay it's clear that after the ball is gone there is ample opportunity for the Defensive player to let up, as you've seen so many of them do in the past. He could easily have pulled up and let Brady stumble backwards upright. But instead he continued his motion through an additional three steps and then piledrived Brady into the turf.

Clearly illegal. Good call.

Too bad it was raining instead of a nice warm day so you could have seen the Cheerleaders in their skimy outfits.

I have to ask if you meant to type "skimpy." If so, that's one of the great all-time slips, as many of the cheerleaders are skimy. (Or is it skimey?)
