There seems to be quite a few good safeties in the draft, though there may be questions about some of them.

Anyone have any opinions about whether Merriweather's gun incident indicates a character issue or not?

I don't think it is too much of a big deal, Merriweather was acting in clear self defense here. Plus, I find it hard to believe that in any 53 man roster, there isn't someone who owns a gun. That's just the nature of the NFL.
