Ocho and Brady did just not click...i have seen several replays where Ocho is wide open but Brady goes to someone else.

It's not about "clicking". If Ocho is wide open he's either in the wrong opening or he wasn't anticipated to be in the right one based on his body of work to the point Tom can't trust him. Brady makes timing throws with anticipation based on pre and post snap reads. He doesn't wait around back there to see what randomly pops up and then take a flyer on it. Brady goes to the guys he trusts based on their mutual understanding of the options and proven playmaking ability. To go elsewhere would constitute a bad decision.

I recall a lot of those between Palmer and Ocho in the simplistic system Cincy ran although it was often debatable which one of them screwed up the play as they spent equal time glaring or jawing at each other. Chad still caught a lot of balls there because there weren't a lot of options and if they weren't consistently targeted regardless of outcome they voiced their displeasure. And as a result despite compiling some impressive stats for all concerned, their team didn't win. So just understand when you ask for that...that's what you're asking for.

Moss did run most of the routes in 2007 not so much in the second half of 2009 and 2010. He did understand the system.

This article why Ocho may get a shot at returning to the mini camps and TC to see if he can play the system.

This is also why you are better off if you want a FA WR to look at B Lloyd who knows the system than other big name WR's who don't know the system and would be a crap shoot.

As I recall it Moss was asked to run more of the routes in 2008 and 2009 and that was when the bloom started fading from the rose. Moss could be accommodated for as long as he made the deep ball a high percentage play even in double and triple coverage. Once they began missing on those as often as not, even in single coverage, which was a combination of factors including declining skill/health/effort on his part and declining ability/opportunity (due to determined defenses) for the OL to protect Tom long enough to allow those plays to develop, Moss was increasingly asked to go across the middle. And while he did it was not his strong suit and teams knew that if they hit him in the mouth it would rapidly take a toll. One of my lasting memories of Randy (along with some spectacular catches) was a day late in 2009 when he headed off the field after alligator arming a crucial throw and Belichick just glaring at him like WTF was that?
